03.17.14 | orange country actually ^^ and the show was incredible, honestly they put on such a good show. and failure opened for them and despite only playing for about 40 min, killed it, the drummer especially crushed. the setlist was: third eye, vicarious, schism (+ extended intro), pushit, intension, lateralus (+ extended middle jam) -intermission- danny carrey solo (WHICH I GOT RECORDED ON MY PHONE!!! :D) b'boom (king crimson cover), jambi, forty-six & 2, aenema, and stinkfist. no undertow songs but thats chill. maynard surprisingly hit every note really well except for the climactic note at the end of vicarious which he didn't even attempt and let the audience sing. other than that though, he hit em all, I was really surprised he hit pushit's climax too. the visuals were spec-fucking-tacular and I got a great view of the whole stage from where I was. the crowd and band was really energetic and everyone looked like they were having a great time. definitely some of the best money I've spent and a purely awesome time; maynard kinda hung in the back for most of the show, so I only got to see his silouhette of him and his mohawk for most of the time, but it made the few times I did see him even better. It's unreal seeing Danny drum live btw, video just can't capture that speed and precision. they got a 5 min standing o (probably common) and just stood on stage waving and smiling. all in all, awesome awesome experience |
