Saw La Dispute & Pianos Become The Teeth
Well I went to ATL last night and Saw Mansions, Pianos rBecome The Teeth, & rLa Dispute. Was my 3rd time seeing La rDispute they were great but imo they rhad a weak setlist this rtime, then again my love for em has worn off. I was way rmore rexcited to see PBTT they blew me away. Band was tight an, rsinger nailed rall the notes, and they played a new song. I rWish they would have been the rheadliners. As for Mansions, i rwas unfamiliar with their songs but they put on a rgood show, rdef made me wanna check them out. If there coming near ryou i rrecommend you go, it was well worth the time.
|1||Pianos Become The Teeth|
Picked this vinyl up while i was there for 12$ They only played "Filial"
|2||Pianos Become The Teeth|
The Lack Long After
Picked this up for 12$ also, real cheap getting vinyl a dollar an inch.
They played most of the highlights off this. Best performance was
"Hiding" though. Literally saw the singer on his hands an knees behind
the stage afterward.
Rooms Of The House
Not enjoying this album alot, an their set dominated with tracks from
this. Was funny when they started playing "The Child We Lost 1963"
my friend and i thought they fucked up an were playing "The Most
Beautiful Bitter Fruit" again since the beginning drums are so similar.
Encored on "King Park", of course. One Highlight was the added Trumpet on "all our bruised bodies"
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River...
3rd time seeing them, an they played the same 3 songs each time.
Andria, Said The King To The River, New Storms For Older Lovers.
Drummer was interesting, Loved the dual vox, and their bass player
was cute an brought the jams.
Dig Up The Dead
New Best Friends
The Funeral Of God
Jammed this on the way home to get that pussy emo shit out my ears
I might be going to the show depending on circumstances - I live two hours away and it's in the middle of a school week, so not sure how that'll work out
It may have sounded like i was complaining some but it was indeed a truly great show by all the bands. I was gonna comment more about it but i got lazy. I know you can find the setlist online if you wanna find that out. PBTT said they were dropping a new album later this year, the new song was so good too. Hopefully you can work something out.
Going to see them tonight in Jacksonville. fuck yerrrrr.
Also, the drums are striking similar on those songs. Most Beautiful Bitter Fruit has a slightly faster
pace and uses highhats more often, but other than that its essentially the same haha
All Time Low were playing with La Dispute, PBtT, and Mansions?
No, lol. ATL stands for Atlanta.
r u sure
Look I'm sorry to inform you All Time Low didn't play with em. Thank god.
I was gonna go to this show actually, but i'm in mississippi and couldn't get a ride. I've seen both bands. Loved LD when I saw them, prob wouldn't anymore. PBTT puts on a killer show, way better live than on record. Was the new song similar to their other material (any characteristics to mention)?
Understandable. I've missed out on seeing PBTT a bunch so i was real glad to finally see them. Yeah La
Dispute was great but I'm not near as into them. I agree it was better than the record, the singer just
puts so much emotion into his voice it honestly the performance is up next to Chino Moreno's for me.
I'd say the new song is more in the same vein as stuff from "The Lack Long After" I did some searching
an found this set video from the concert before the one i went to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=FRJ5FmxDJAQ the new song is played around 14:00.
what's wrong with your r?
I enjoy those songs, but not all of them are my favorites an after seeing them 3 times i'd hope to hear at least just one different song thrown into the mix.
Did Koji open for you gmember? He opened for me. Mansions is like 5 songs in right now.
filial is da best
Omg, so fucking amped for PBtT. Please tell me they played 'Such Confidence' at your venue
Man that's a treat, Mansions was the opener for me was no other band. Sadly Such Confidence was the one track they didn't play that i was dying to hear. Its one of my favorites.
I'll Be Damned was their opening track, and Jesus, it was a hell of an opener, fantastic.
I know how old the album is now, no need to point that out. I've seen plenty of bands play alot of songs off albums that were way, way older than that.
When i saw em 3 years ago though it was the same 3 songs an wildlife had just dropped, its just a small complaint. At this point I've gotten used to the fact, they don't like to mix things up when it comes to older material.
Its all good man, I was just expressing my frustration, honestly maybe i should have just been a fan sooner.
@Guzzo10 Hope the show is slaying for you man.
Pretty disappointed PBtT didn't play 'Such Confidence' but they played Hiding, I'll Be Damned and I'll
Get By. They played another song, probably the one you named from Old Pride, but I can't remember.
La Dispute was good, but I really enjoyed the energy from beginning to end that PBtT put on. La
Dispute played Sad Prayers, Andria, Said the King, and the first half of The Last Lost Continent,
which was in dedication to Koji, which was pretty cool. The song that stood out for me on their new
album was 'Woman(Reading)' It was already my favorite track off the album, and live was even better.
Altogether it was a pretty great show, save for all the scene girls there.
Sounds similar the same as the set i saw. Damn i would've killed to hear Sad Prayers an the 1st half of The Last Lost Continent though. That is a surprise! I'm very envious. I agree with "Woman" being a highlight from the new album, love the drums on it. Glad it was a great show dude, I didn't have alot of scene girls at the show but there were a bunch of bros that wanted to 2 step as soon as they heard anything that resembled a beat.
Pianos is such a solid act. LD's game lately doesn't even match up to the kind of stuff Pianos Become the Teeth has been putting out. It'd be cool to see La Dispute regardless, but I'd definitely rather see Pianos.
Yeah, when Dreyer was like, "And our next song is dedicated to an old friend of ours, he is standing right over there. This is for you Koji" I was like, "oh SHIT. This is probably going to be bomb." Didn't disappoint. Did they finish and come back out for an encore like they did for my show? Probably. They finished, left stage, and the crowd chanted "One more song" and then they came back out and played a Poem and Kings Park
