Iron Maiden's Best Albums In Order
Iron Maiden's Best Albums in Order |
1 | | Iron Maiden The Number of The Beast
After all the listens of all these albums I find it easier to come back to Number of The Beast and appreciate it the 1000th listen, giving it its #1 ranking. Who can't dispute this classic that put Maiden more on the map than ever? Hallowed Be Thy Name remains their signature song and my personal favorite |
2 | | Iron Maiden Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Probably some of the best instrumentals Maiden has put out. ex. Infinite Dreams and the Title Track |
3 | | Iron Maiden A Matter of Life and Death
These top albums could go a few different ways...hard to distinguish the "Golden Age" albums. But this album is good enough to make a bold move and put it ahead of the likes of "Powerslave" and "Piece of Mind." It is simply "epic" from the music to the lyrics, the best of the "re-born" Maiden. And it is a little refreshing at the top of the list. For awhile I considered it Maidens best. |
4 | | Iron Maiden Somewhere In Time
It's creativity gives it the nod over its two predecessors. |
5 | | Iron Maiden Powerslave
Some may be outraged that powerslave is not even higher. But the albums does contain a few holes, while the others are Excellent songs throughout rather than a couple just "Greats" Remember I rated these top 6 a "5," and are all very close. The breakdown of "Powerslave" (song) I consider to the so called "climax" of "golden age" Maiden |
6 | | Iron Maiden Piece of Mind
It has both undisputed Classics "The Trooper," "Revelations" and underrated songs like "To Tame A Land." Maiden keeps on truckin' |
7 | | Iron Maiden Iron Maiden
The orginial young fiery Maiden, where we first see their legendary potential |
8 | | Iron Maiden The Final Frontier
Maybe the most thoughtful and progressive Maiden yet |
9 | | Iron Maiden Brave New World
The Resurgence of Maiden from what some to consider "dark times." A reborn progressive sound that delivers |
10 | | Iron Maiden Dance of Death
The folk influences of "Dance of Death" and "Paschendale" reach again new territory in a very strong and what I believe, under-appreciated album compared to is predecessor |
11 | | Iron Maiden Killers
Not too too far off its predecessor, but a little more punky than "Maideny" is how Id describe it |
12 | | Iron Madien Virtual XI
The Blaze albums are grossly underrated for one. Its Maiden, just in a different form...that most people didn't warm up to. I find Virtual XI more fun to listen to than the darker X Factor even though it can be considered a little... "cheesy" Id say is maybe the right word. |
13 | | Iron Maiden The X Factor
Good album, great stuff on here, just too repetitive to much of the same but different, tends to drag on. |
14 | | Iron Maiden No Prayer for the Dying
This is where Maiden first starts to "decline" I think there was a bit of an Identity crisis as the band got older people wanted to explore different things Adrian left, Bruce got frustrated with what Steve wanted to do and it lasted two albums before everyone went off and did their own thing. Dave and Nicko just went with the flow I guess. |
15 | | Iron Maiden Fear of the Dark
I think because Fear of the Dark itself is a good song people believe the album to be too, but its not... by Maiden standards at least. Really the only time where you find a bunch of poor "filler tracks" |
