03.16.08 | More along the lines of the first 3, tbh. |
botb
03.16.08 | Get Lift Your Skinny Fists or F#A# by 1.
and check out a silver mount zion. |
jrowa001
03.16.08 | Laura - Radio Swan Is Down |
Electric City
03.16.08 | there's nothing really like 4, which is good, cuz it makes it all the more special.
Anyway, Gregor Samsa and Ghastly City Sleep go together a lot, but I find Ghastly City Sleep far and above the better group.
Check out Jaga Jazzist. That's my firm recommendation. |

03.16.08 | I already listened to F# A#, I just didn't want to include GY!BE twice, and I am going to listen to This is Our Punk Rock... by A Silver Mount Zion sometime soon. What album by Gregor Samsa should I check out? |
Electric City
03.16.08 | 55:12 is everyone's album of choice, though I don't see it's appeal. |
Bron-Yr-Aur
03.16.08 | yndi halda, brian eno, mono
also maybe holler, wild rose! |
Electric City
03.16.08 | yndi and mono are great for fans of Godspeed (though not as good in both cases). |
Zebra
03.16.08 | I'll recommend Deux Filles "Silence & Wisdom" |
ASberg
03.16.08 | tiger lou - the loyal |
theclash219
03.16.08 | you should check out sigur ros. |
Mendigo
03.16.08 | Sigur Ros - Aegaetis Byrjun
GY!BE - Lift Your Skinny Fists...
maybe Kayo Dot - Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue, which has a lot of post rock influences |
TheSportingSwine
03.16.08 | Try Pelican, or Red Sparowes for instrumental stuff, or Isis and Neurosis for the more metal stuff. |
711
03.16.08 | Definitely Yndi Halda. Also try Slint (not really post-rock but sort of), Belong (not post-rock but sort of), Fennesz (again not post-rock but sort of) and Glenn Branca. |
irontusk
03.16.08 | the band Gwei-Lo is amazing. Definitely one of my favorite post rocks bands, if not my favorite. not many have heard of them...actually, anyone on sputnik listen to Gwei-Lo? |
Bron-Yr-Aur
03.16.08 | 711 knows whats up |
FlawedPerfection
03.16.08 | Yndi, Sigur Ros, and Jaga Jazzist fo' sho'. I'm just getting into Gregor Samsa and really digging it. For more recent stuff, check out the Gifts from Enola/You May Die in the Desert split LP, Ef's I Am Responsible, and Daturah's Reverie. |
HighandDriving
03.16.08 | You.May.Die.In.The.Desert |

03.16.08 | I didn't feel like putting all the periods. |

03.17.08 | I'd recommend the album "All is Violent, All is Bright" by God is an Astronaut. I'm pretty new to post-rock too, but I found this to be excellent and very easy to get into. |
StreetlightRock
03.17.08 | If you like 2, I recommend checking out Broken Social Scene, they arn't exactly post-rock, but they share a similar sound, and they're amazing - one of Do Make Say Think's guitarists is a touring live guitarist for them atm, go figure. |
