11.11.13 | Technically headphones in general take a toll on hearing. Bass frequencies do the most long term damage. It really depends on what kind of headphones you are using and how loud you are listening. |

11.11.13 | A store manager overheard a clerk saying to a customer, "No, ma'am, we haven't had any for some weeks now, and it doesn't look as if we'll be getting any soon."
Alarmed by what was being said, the manager rushed over to the customer, who was walking out the door, and said, "That isn't true, ma'am. Of course, we'll have some soon. In fact, we placed an order for it a couple of weeks ago."
Then the manager drew the clerk aside and growled, "Never, never, never, never say we don't have something. If we don't have it, say we ordered it and it's on its way. Now, what was it she wanted?" |

11.11.13 | But really. Don't EQ stuff. Just buy a nice set of headphones that have decent bass response and balanced mid and treble range and enjoy the music closer to the way it was intended for you to hear. |

All frequencies do similar damage to your ears but they will noticeably hurt easier from mid/high range frequencies where as it's harder for our ears to process low end frequencies so you might not notice the damage you're doing |

11.13.13 | bump for a sub-question to this, from what @joshuahuntkc said, is there a good pair of earbuds/brand that you guys would recommend that is pretty high quality, has some good bass response and such? I'm not as big a fan of headphones, primarily I don't want to lug them around, earbuds are easy to put into your pocket. |

11.13.13 | if youre on a budget get the earbuds from monoprice
every test thats ever been done on them says they compare to $40-$50 earbuds for a fraction of the price. they certainly arent audiophile quality earbuds but theyre leagues better than the best skullcandy bullshit you can but in the mall
i have no idea how monoprice does what they do but i like it. |

11.13.13 | hm that looks pretty good to me. I have a bit of spending money left, I might be able to get one of those. |
