10.22.13 Bands Who Changed Genres

Bands Who Changed Genres

Yup
1Xysma

A band whose name means membranous shreds in the faeces. Originally played Goregrind before changing to Black Sabbath like Heavy Metal mixed with Death Metal, then going to Hard Rock, and finally to pure Pop. Kind of funny when the bands first album is called "Swarming of the Maggots" and their last is called "Girl on the Beach"
2Bring Me The Horizon

Originally Deathcore before going Metalcore on their second album and doing a pretty good job of it. Now they have clean vocals and keyboards. They're even being considered Post-Hardcore now. Weird.
3Rise Against

Started off as a Hardcore Punk band (Search up Alive and Well), changed into Alternative Rock later on when they got famous.
4Muse

Originally made fairly generic but still amazing Pop Music and even had a few Punkish songs like Jimmy Kane. Changed up their sound into a weird Proggy/Rock sound which many people claim is their 'true' sound. I disagree. Showbiz will always be their best album in my eyes. Later on they became shit.
5Pink Floyd

Originally made Psychedelic Rock and had a lead singer by the name of Syd Barret. You probably know what happened.
6Panic At The Disco

Originally made Dance-Punkish Pop on their first album, then basically became The Beatles on their second album before going in reverse and producing the horrible Vices and Virtues. Their new album is basically the same old thing, just tweaked to sound more like everything else on the radio.
7Metallica

Originally had Iron Maiden like vocals. Changed it up and became Thrash Metal until releasing the horrendous "Black Album" and unleashing a shitstorm of garbage upon the Metal Community ever since.
8My Chemical Romance

Originally a Post-Hardcore act, My Chemical Romance began making Alternative Rock starting from their second album onwards, and even branching into Pop Punk with their fourth and final effort.
9Chromatics

This band's initial three albums were Lo-Fi Post Punk, and admittedly, pretty good. After their third album they decided to make Electronica and Synth Pop.
10Darkthrone

Started off as Death Metal, turned into Black Metal, revamped themselves as a crust punk band with such classic titles as "Fuck Off And Die" and "Witch Ghetto", then settled on being a shitty Heavy Metal band, sounding somewhere between AC/DC and Iron Maiden.
