What Happened To 21st Century Radio Rock?

I know like 95% of users hate most radio rock and stuff like that. But I grew up on it, and it kind of stuck with me. So I'm curious, seeing a bunch of bands I got into in the past, and listening to their new albums, it just isn't the same anymore. What happened to it? I think it used to be pretty good. I'm going to finish this later probably. More to add, but at the time I'm going through a monsoon and probably going to lose power. Let the flak commence! First half of this list is kind of a "past and present" type of thing, and the second half are some albums I think show hope for mainstream rock these days.
1Sick Puppies
Dressed Up As Life

2007. This album was incredible...powerful bass, good lyrics, better than anything I was hearing at the time, this album still stands as one of my all time favorites.
2Sick Puppies
Connect

2013. This year, they released their newest album. Connect. I was excited for it (I'm one of the few that enjoyed "There's No Going Back") but after listening to the album... I was so disappointed. Just, lame, really. Though I would check out "Poison" and "Healing Now".
3Linkin Park
Hybrid Theory

2000. Going way back now. I imagine just about everyone out there knows this band because of this album. It was what got them on the map, and with good reason. Truly a great album with reason to be regarded as their best.
4Linkin Park
Minutes to Midnight

2007. 7 years later and Linkin Park is still alive and kicking. Just, not in the same way. This album was...alright. I liked it more as a guilty pleasure...but it just isn't the same and personally, I wish it was like it's predecessors.
5Shinedown
Leave A Whisper

2003. Alright, this is my favorite band, of all time. I just love Brent Smith's voice and the way it literally can echo through the speakers. It's incredibly recognizable and this album was great. It was heavy, dark, and it had all the elements it needed to be fantastic.
6Shinedown
Amaryllis

2012. Last year rolls around and Brent Smith's voice is still kicking as much ass as it did. While I enjoy this album, it's no where near on par with the ones that came before it. If you are interested though, check out "For My Sake" and "Enemies". Those should be on the radio today unlike "Bully" and "Unity".
7Skillet
Comatose

2006. Skillet was finding their sound, Collide came out 2 years before and they were coming into their own. Comatose comes around and with a wide variation of tracks, some heavy, some more soft and sentimental, it had all the aspects that made them a band you probably wouldn't turn off.
8Skillet
Rise

Alright, I'll admit. I've only listened to about half of this. But I didn't want to finish it. The tracks just didn't appeal to me...sadly enough. Because this band has talent and they know how to use it, just didn't seem to this go around.
9Volbeat
Rock The Rebel/Metal The Devil

2007. Now I haven't listened to this album in a while. But I remember hearing a few songs every once in a while, and it was pretty sick. Not their best album, in my opinion, but still had some excellent tracks on it.
10Volbeat
Outlaw Gentlemen and Shady Ladies

2013. I like this album. But it's got some flaws. A lot of the tracks are kind of dull for Volbeat's standards. Though the ones that are on the radio get me pretty pumped up. Cape of Our Hero, Hangman's Body Count, and Lola Montez are all very strong I think. Also, check out Ecotone. That song is fantastic, sadly is was a bonus track, so it didn't make it on the regular release and probably won't be heard on the radio, either.
11Stone Sour
House of Gold and Bones - Part 1
12Stone Sour
House of Gold and Bones - Part 2
13Alice in Chains
The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here
14Soundgarden
King Animal
15Foo Fighters
Wasting Light
16Otherwise
True Love Never Dies
17Alter Bridge
Fortress

Yeah I know it's not out yet. But the first single is, and it's incredible.
18Chevelle
Hats Off to the Bull
19Nine Inch Nails
Hesitation Marks

I've heard a couple songs off of this, I just need to progress on that, because it seems like it would definitely be a solid album.
