Recently Obtained

Albums I recently obtained and what I thought of them.
1Victimizer
The Final Assault

Victimzer blend thrash, black, death, and NWOBHM to create one of the most unique sounding thrash albums in the past few years. Highly recommended. 4.5/5
2Sodomizer
The Dead Shall Rise to Kill

So Sodomizer isn't that original, but as reviewer over on metal-archives put it, "In an age where people are more interested in what colour Matt Heafy has painted his nails than the fact Lamb Of God are making a living butchering Testament riffs, we need bands like Sodomizer." You're damn right we need more bands like Sodomizer. 4/5
3Bloodbath
Nightmares Made Flesh

I avoided this because super-bands always tend to fail. This, however, destroys. I'm pretty stoked for their upcoming EP, though it features Mikael Akerfeldt on vocals instead Peter Tagtgren (Peter did the vocals on Nightmares and he nailed it). 4/5
4Deicide
The Stench of Redemption

God gets a tongue lashing like none other, not to mention the riffs could fucking move a mountain. 4/5
5 Laaz Rockit
Nothing'$ $acred

I have no idea how this thrash escaped me for so long. They're a blend of power and thrash (no, don't think Nevermore). Album has riffs coming out of its ears. 4/5
6Ultimatum
Into the Pit

Tipped off on some forum. They've been around for some time, but I didn't get this until now. Anyway, this has some great moments, but runs flat a few times. Vocals are a bit irksome, though the cover of Iron Maiden's "Wrathchild" is killer. 3.5/5
7Bestial Mockery
Slaying the Life

The first few songs are ace, but then it just goes down hill. Pretty much a band that's enjoyable, but Destroyer 666 blow them out of the water. 3/5
8Fastkill
Nuclear Thrashing Attack

Yeah they're fast as hell, but they're pretty boring at points. That and the vocals are awkward. 2.5/5
9Suicidal Angels
Eternal Domination

When you have song titles like "Quench Your Thirst With Christian Souls", you better be badass. Sadly, this is not the case. 2/5
