06.25.13 | I only like Patton on Irony Is A Dead Scene, so I easily choose Maynard. Faith No More, Mr. Bungle are just not my thing. |
Romulus
06.25.13 | this is not even remotely a question |
StallionMang
06.25.13 | Patton, no contest. |

06.25.13 | Never heard Faith No More. Does Mike sound like Maynard? |
Insurrection
06.25.13 | not in the slightest |
Riviere
06.25.13 | Maynard by a lot. |
Romulus
06.25.13 | if you took him and made him a better vocalist in every respect then yes |

06.25.13 | Maynard is the most overrated vocalist of all time. |

06.25.13 | Patton |
tempest--
06.25.13 | Maynard is more consistent and all his stuff rules
Patton is more versatile and does like every style of singing ever
idk they're both great but I think I like Maynard more just because I have always listened to his stuff more than Patton's |
Evreaia
06.25.13 | Patton, no contest |
JS19
06.25.13 | Patton is one of the best all round vocalists of all time. Maynard is good.

06.25.13 | dude, I'm in the process of trying to write a comparative annalysis between these two at the moment.
I've always been a Patton fan, but it's not as cut and dried as I had thought. |
DegausserGuernica24
06.25.13 | As a vocalist?
Patton.
As a songwriter?
Maynard. |
InbredJed
06.25.13 | ok fair, but how bout live? |
omnipanzer
06.25.13 | Manard is amazing live... don't know about Patton. Love them both but I think I have to vote for...
Mike Patton
I don't think that Patton is nearly as much of an asshole and he has better range. |
Evreaia
06.25.13 | If you want to compare Patton to anyone pick someone who at least comes close this his talent and/or vocal range.
I can only think of Kyo, but even that is an easy win for Patton. |
InbredJed
06.25.13 | better range, yes....
not as much of an asshole....

06.25.13 | Mike Patton, without a question. |
Polyethylene
06.25.13 | That isn't being an asshole, Patton is just a massive troll. He never talks himself up or proclaims his genius |
Artuma
06.25.13 | Maynard by far, just listen to his lyrics. vocally i'd say him too but Patton is cool as well |

Has Maynard written anything that compares? |
Gmork89
06.25.13 | Patton by light-years. |
MO
06.25.13 | patton hard, more diverse |
TMobotron
06.25.13 | I've never really understood the Maynard worship. I like him a lot but he doesn't even come close to Patton. |
MyNameIsPencil
06.25.13 | admitingly this was a little bit of a silly question, but I kinda made this to help settle a dispute between me and my stubborn brother... but personally yeah I think Patton is better because he's more versatile plus to me at least he's stuff is consitant for the most part, some of it might be odd but good, while for Keenan Pusifer horrible, and 10.000 Days is one of the most disappointing albums ever made |
Puzzles
06.25.13 | Patton is definitely more versatile but I enjoy the timbre of Maynard's voice comparatively better |
eleventhsun
06.25.13 | Very hard choice. Patton is much more diverse but Maynards overall voice is beyond epic for me. |
balazs
06.25.13 | Patton can do anything, but maynard is more personal for me |
drasticaction74
06.25.13 | both great, can't choose.
oh wait, Patton |
LeviofDoom
06.25.13 | Patton is better... but I prefer Keenan. Some of Pattons techniques are kind of annoying; i cant stand half of the songs on The Real Thing. |
omnipanzer
06.25.13 | Neither blows the other away... it depends on what qualities you value most. |
InbredJed
06.25.13 | you're right Poly, Maynard's humility is faux |
Mongi123
06.25.13 | "not in the slightest"
What? Then why are we even comparing these two lol |
InbredJed
06.26.13 | on the surface, there is no reason to compare these dudes,
upon a 2nd look however, it is apparent that both men have inspired a rabid and loyal (underground or not) fanbase, both have achieved fame through an alternative-hard rock band that didn't fit into any mould, and both men have felt the need to express themselves through various side-projects or other projects entirely |
Mongi123
06.26.13 | I gotta try out Faith No More they seem pretty good. I always enjoy a band with a very critically acclaimed vocalist haha |
loneNLwolf
06.26.13 | Maynard, definitely. |
