Aids' Vinyl Pt. 2 Of 2
pt. 1 had 72 entries, this one has 46 for a grand total of 118. Alphabetical
order starting where the last one ended. |
1 | | The Mountain Goats All Eternals Deck
180 gram |
2 | | The Mountain Goats Tallahassee |
3 | | The Mountain Goats The Life Of The World To Come
inherited from Josh. I don't know why he bought record, one of their weakest imo
but still great. I only need Heretic Pride and Get Lonely and I'll have every record
that they've pressed. |
4 | | The Mountain Goats The Sunset Tree
Signed by John Darnielle. I waited 45 minutes after the show to try to meet him as
he was leaving. This guy is my favourite human ever, but I did a good job of not
going overboard with praise and freaking out. |
5 | | The Mountain Goats Transcendental Youth
180 gram |
6 | | The Mountain Goats We Shall All Be Healed
Signed by John Darnielle. I was only going to ask him to sign one, but he was just
like "you want me to sign that other one too?" I also had Tallahassee with me but I
was pushing it and the cover is dark red/black. Anyway, my two signed tMG
records are basically my prized possessions. |
7 | | Myron Floren On The Accordion
(from the last list) "It was free, is likely horrible, and I needed spare sleeves to
protect the records whose sleeves I have framed. This actual record is sitting in a
bag somewhere getting scratched to shit. Shouldn't even be included but it is
cause lol." |
8 | | The National Boxer |
9 | | The National High Violet
Double LP (gatefold packaging), signed by 3/5ths of the band. |
10 | | Neutral Milk Hotel In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Obviously |
11 | | Okkervil River Don't Fall In Love With Everyone You See
one day Robin Smith and I will meet up and share many a drink while spinning this
record and discussing the finer points of The Mountain Goats' illustrious
discography. |
12 | | Pink Floyd A Saucerful of Secrets
alright, it's floyd time |
13 | | Pink Floyd Animals
essential |
14 | | Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon
I own two of these, that's how essential this record is. |
15 | | Pink Floyd The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
classic but super overlooked, Syd Barrett was a mad genius |
16 | | Pink Floyd Ummagumma
underrated. The "weirdest" Floyd album, but everything is executed so well. I also
think this album cover is one of the best ever made. The guy who made it (and
most of these) just died :0 |
17 | | Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here
my favourite PF album, and an absolutely undeniable classic. Such great cover art
too, RIP Storm Thorgerson |
18 | | Radiohead Kid A
on two 10" records |
19 | | Radiohead The Bends
the first Radiohead album I liked, and a timeless piece of alt rock |
20 | | Raein Sulla linea d'orizzonte tra questa mia vita e que
I purchased this at their recent show in this shitty little record store in the heart of
the downtown east side (in Vancouver). This guys are a screamo band from Italy,
and this was the first time they'd ever played a show in Canada. It was such a
perfect venue for this sort of show. Tiny room packed to double capacity, no
stage, warm PBRs on sale for $3 at the back. |
21 | | Refused The Shape of Punk to Come
they told me that the classics never go out of style, but they do...they do... |
22 | | Rise Against Re-Education (Through Labor)
single 7" on white vinyl, b-side is a cover of the song "Minor Threat" (try to guess
which band wrote it). I got this for free for being one of the first X number of
people to buy Appeal to Reason at HMV (lol fuck off). I had an early shift that day
so I bought it when the store opened. And yeah I used to buy Rise Against CDs,
step off. |
23 | | Rosie June Listening Post
signed by Rosie obviously |
24 | | The Rural Alberta Advantage Departing
signed by all three band members after I saw them open for Dan Mangan. I spoke
to them all, great people. |
25 | | Shugo Tokumaru In Focus?
1 of 1000 clear vinyl limited edition |
26 | | Stars of the Lid The Tired Sounds of Stars of the Lid
triple album, having to set the needle 6 times kind of breaks me out of the daze
that this record otherwise puts me in |
27 | | Steppenwolf Slow Flux
inherited by the parents, absolutely abysmal condition, also not a very good album
at all. Sup. |
28 | | Sufjan Stevens The Age of Adz
double LP, gatefold edition (super awesome artwork all over this thing). Impossible
Soul doesn't fit on one side hahaha, so it's split up and the album plays a little bit
differently towards the end. |
29 | | Sunny Day Real Estate Diary
This is one of my favourite records that I own. It is a double LP edition on
translucent pink vinyl, with a 16-page full-size booklet containing lots of great
alternate art, and a really detailed history of the band and the scene at that time. |
30 | | The Tallest Man on Earth The Wild Hunt
gotta have it |
31 | | The Doobie Brothers Toulouse Street
oops, I forgot to "Doobie Brothers, The" this bad boy, so this should be in part 1,
but alas, here it lies. Anyway, I love this band. I inherited this from my dad and
sometimes we jam "Jesus is Just Alright With Me" together. |
32 | | Tokyo Ghetto Pussy Everybody On The Floor (Pump It)
I had no idea what this was but it was $3 and tripped me out so I bought it.
Apparently it's some German Trance from the 90s. Word?

33 | | TV on the Radio Dear Science
he's a WHAT he's a WHAT he's a newspaper man |
34 | | TV on the Radio Nine Types of Light
I came so close to giving this a 5 back in 2011, such a fucking awesome album. |
35 | | V.I.V.E.K Asteroids/Over My Head
first time I've ever ordered a dubstep record from the UK but I just had to. This
thing is massive, and I can't even play it when my landlord is home upstairs cause
the bass shakes the walls of our house. |
36 | | Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (Kazuyoshi Akiyama) Grieg: Piano Concerto in A Minor, Sibelius: Karelia Suite
signed by the conductor, this is the best way I could think of to list the classical
stuff |
37 | | Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (Kazuyoshi Akiyama) Holst: The Planets
signed by the conductor. This is such a phenomenal piece of music. If you haven't
heard it, I would highly recommend tracking down someone's version of it. I'm sure
some are better than others, but regardless, it's an essential piece of 20th-century
classical music. |
38 | | Warpaint Exquisite Corpse |
39 | | Warpaint The Fool
apparently James Blake is dating one of the guitarists? Well done, to both parties. |
40 | | The Weakerthans Reconstruction Site
I will get this signed one day, mark my words. I saw him touring his solo album last
year, but I was in Germany and didn't have my records with me. I still need to pick
up Left and Leaving too. |
41 | | The Weakerthans Reunion Tour
used, not great condition, but I just wanted to have my favourite song on vinyl
(Virtute the Cat Explains Her Departure). The rest of the album is really, really
good, but overall, it's my least favourite Weakerthans album. |
42 | | Wes Montgomery Greatest Hits
One of my favourite guitar players, I had to buy this when I saw it. |
43 | | White Lung Sorry
if these gals (and one guy) continue on the warpath that they're currently on,
Japandroids will soon have some serious competition for my favourite local band. |
44 | | The Who Who's Next
WE WON'T BE FOOLED AGAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN |
45 | | Yes Tales from Topographic Oceans
inherited from my dad (he must have smoked mad weed back in the day). Not my
favourite Yes album. |
46 | | Yo La Tengo Popular Songs |
|
