My 40 Favorite Albums

Bored at work so I made a list. I grew up on 90s rock so there is a lot on rhere. I kept it to one rrrrralbum per band, though some bands would definitely rhave multiple albums in here. If you rrdon't rrragree, kiss my bumper.
40Reel Big Fish
Turn the Radio Off

This is the only Reel Big Fish album I've ever heard. It kicks ass and is hilarious.
39Slipknot
Slipknot

Probably the first heavy record with any type of screaming I ever listened to. Big nostalgia factor here.
38Rise Against
Revolutions Per Minute

Super catchy songs.
37Live
Throwing Copper

Album is so underrated.
36 Norma Jean
O' God The Aftermath

Probably gonna get shit for this. Don't care if it sounds like Botch. This site underrates this album.
35Astronautalis
Pomegranate

Brilliant album. The Story of My Life is one of my all time favorite songs.
34The Tallest Man On Earth
Shallow Grave

Incredible song writer.
33Wu-Tang Clan
Enter the Wu-tang (36 chambers)

First hip hop album I ever owned.
32Protest the Hero
Kezia

None of their other material compares to this.
31The Offspring
Smash

If only they had more albums on par with this.
30Bon Iver
For Emma, Forever Ago

Beautiful Record.
29Misery Signals
Mirrors

Must have new album from them.
28Manchester Orchestra
Mean Everything to Nothing

Rocks.
27Minus the Bear
Planet of Ice

Too bad this band has totally fallen off with recent releases.
26Killswitch Engage
Alive or Just Breathing

First modern metal band I got into. Saw them play this live with Jesse recently. Still ruled.
25Pelican
Australasia

First instrumental band I got into
24The Mars Volta
De-Loused in the Comatorium

Now I'm lost.
23The Gaslight Anthem
Sink or Swim

Their best album.
22Rage Against the Machine
Evil Empire

Year of the Boomerang.
21Red Hot Chili Peppers
Californication

This or by the way.
20Unearth
The Oncoming Storm

Best metalcore album ever.
19Mudvayne
L.D. 50

All their other albums pretty much suck. But not this.
18Foo Fighters
The Colour and the Shape

Dave Grohl
17Radiohead
Kid A

Idioteque.
16Deftones
White Pony

Passenger
15The Smashing Pumpkins
Siamese Dream

90s boy.
14Soundgarden
Superunknown

90s boy.
13Between the Buried and Me
Colors

Really hope they can return to this form someday. Not a huge fan of the parallaxes.
12P.O.S.
Never Better

My favorite Emcee of all time. Doomtree is on another level.
11Cloudkicker
Beacons

Just got into him in the past year. Can't stop listening.
10Sublime
40 Oz. to Freedom

Bradley Nowell is a tragic genius.
9Nine Inch Nails
The Fragile

Loved this in middle school. Even more now.
8At the Drive-In
Relationship of Command

One of the first non mainstream bands I ever got into. Saw them at Lollapalooza last year.
7Incubus
Make Yourself

Got this on vinyl the other day. Brings me back.
6Shai Hulud
That Within Blood Ill-Tempered

This Song: For the true and passionate lovers of music. Another all time favorite.
5Poison the Well
You Come Before You

Another flawless album IMO. Jeff Moreira's and Chris Hornbrook's performances are on point. Chris is probably my favorite non flashy drummer ever. Too band they no longer make music.
4Metallica
Master of Puppets

First metal album I ever listened to. Grew up a huge Metallica fan. Big reason I love heavy music.
3Pearl Jam
Vs.

Was between this and Vitalogy. Been a fan of this band since I was 6.
2Thrice
Vheissu

My favorite band of all time. Biggest influence on my music. Could have put all of their albums in my top twenty.
1Tool
Lateralus

Flawless album. Danny Carey's performance on this is so ridiculous. Wish they would make some more fucking music.
