New Wave

let's dance
1a-ha
Hunting High and Low

new wave started in the late 70's/early 80's and was a pretty vague term applied to lots of styles of punk, usually post-punk with a pop/dance influence or experimental use of synth. a-ha wad one of the most well known new wave hits of the 80's - take on me. this album is much more than a one hit wonder however.

The Lexicon of Love
3Ann Steel
Ann Steel

this is an extremely unusual album. Ann Steel was a model that decided to do a one-off project with Italian electronic composer Roberto Cacciapaglia while modeling in Italy. the result was a very experimental, avant-pop masterpiece unlike anything i've ever heard.

Carnaval

All-female new wave group from Japan. Pretty unusual stuff, this album is really fascinating. Why a group of hot Japanese girls would choose to create an experimental new wave group is beyond me but I?m thankful. They?re also one of the first successful all-female groups in japan and are in the guiness book of world records for being the longest running female group in japan.
