i keep downloading and i never have time to listen, what do yall like to do to balance this?
i have a folder of shit i've downloaded but haven't listened to with like 50+ albums in it. every once in a while i just sift through my iTunes and delete shit that hasn't gotten a lot of play, or decide to start listening to it more.
no I just listen to what I want to listen and only listen to new stuff when I feel like I want something new or something that really piques my attention.
I mainly listen to old stuff that I really enjoy... honestly for me the whole point of listening to new music is trying to find new stuff that can become my go-to music in like a few months time.
but I'd imagine few people on Sput are like that.
Totally get you man, usually end up downloading a new album as I'm listening to one I haven't listened to before to try and balance it out.
Yeah pmmets I have a folder like that too
Fourthreich that's awesome I saw a show from that tour but bane wasn't there, it was just then with backtrack, h2o, and terror
Yeah toxin I should be more like that but especially with free downloads on bandcamp I end up going a bit crazy haha
And visions I should try that
I wouldn't say you should try to do more like what I do, though.
It's my style and it's the style of most people who aren't music "enthusiasts" or whatever but it's just one approach.
It's the same way on how I prefer to play a video game to completion, and then replay it to completion, rather than play one game and immediately move on to the next. Just different strokes
Sup Blackbelt.
I dunno I kinda have enough music now.
Don't really download much anymore.
I'm currently on a mission to sort through all the albums I've downloaded and haven't listened to.....it's going to be a long haul, didn't realize it kinda got out of control. Gonna take a long time
My downloads folder is filled with about 500 albums i havent heard yet, so yea i know the feeling. I cant help myself from downloading shit, but Im trying to keep it about 75% listening to music I have already and 25% looking for new music.
You just have to tell yourself that no matter how many albums you get there will always be thousands you dont have, and hundreds coming out every day. Just slow down and enjoy what you got. It aint a race.
I used to, not so much anymore. Whenever I see a list of 50 or so new bands that I've never heard of,
I'll check out 4 or 5. I just know realistically that only 1 or 2 bands out of those 50 are going to
be good or very good.
