I've been listening to my records a lot more recently, feels great man.
just bought this, local Vancouver punk band that I'm seeing in March. Really great
catchy but aggressive punk with female vocals.
bought this as well. it was $30 but it's 2 180 gram LPs, first pressing since its
release, and I fucking love this record. whatever, worth it.
and he thought about how everyone dies someday, and when tomorrow gets here
where will yesterday be, and fell asleep in his brand new winter coat. Buy me a
shiny new machine that runs on lies and gasoline and all those batteries we stole
from smoke alarms.
Sasquatch is coming, and I've been reminiscing of when I bought this before seeing
them there in 2010. I met 3 of them and they signed my record, it was ace. The
performance was, to this day, still one of the best live shows I have seen.
another Sasquatch-inspired vinyl jam. I thought this band was good but overrated
until I decided to heed a friend's advice and make sure I saw their set at Sasquatch
2011. I saw the whole thing and they blew my poor peasant mind. I rushed to the
vinyl tent immediately to buy this record. It's white, bonus. Deerhunter are now
one of my favourite bands.

We Shall All Be Healed
This song is for the people who tell their families they're sorry for things they can't
and won't feel sorry for.
Sulla linea d'orizzonte tra questa mia vita e que
I bought this when I saw them a couple of weeks ago. It was my first real screamo
show and the venue was perfect. It was this small back room of a dingy little
record shop in the heart of Vancouver's dowtown eastside (read: sketch as fuck).
It was my first time getting involved in Vancouver's underground hardcore culture
and overall it was a great night. 3 bands played, including a local band and one
from California. Anyway Raein were great and I bought this record (that's my
favourite way to support musicians that I have stolen from or intend to steal from:
go to their shows and buy merch).
Late Christmas present from my best friend. My favourite album of 2012, I love
owning this on vinyl mainly because the artwork is so great, and also it came with a
really unique lyric sheet/weird drawing thing that I kind of want to hang on my
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River...
Jammed this a couple of weeks ago in preparation for seeing them live (with Hot
Water Music and The Menzingers, 3 great bands). I saw them before but it was
like 5 songs and it was basically me and four or five other people who actually gave
a shit. This time around they had two LPs to draw from and a lot more fans. They
played 9 songs, including Andria, which was a religious experience for me. I've
always wanted to see that live, so glad they played it. Other highlights: Harder
Harmonies (I had/was near the mic for various parts during "there's a melody in
everything i'm trying to find a harmony but nothing seems to work. nothing! fits!"),
Why It Scares Me, and closing combo of A Poem/King Park. I would have bought
Wildlife on yellow vinyl probably, but they sold out quickly, probably a good thing
cause I'm pretty poor and that was already an expensive night.
Had dinner with a friend last night. She recently got her record player working so
we jammed some of her oldies (but goodies) including this one, and:
Rock 'n' Roll Animal
Great live album. I asked her if she had heard Lulu, she hadn't, and I attempted to
explain what it was and how universally panned it was. It was difficult to convey
my opinion on the matter... ANYWAY this record is sweet, I'd never heard the
whole thing before. We also listened to:
So so so so SO jealous of her for having this. Every time I see it, it's at least $40.
Anyway, Go Canada! Album is amazing, whatever.

on the fence, trying to decide how you feel about a certain artist? Well, if they
play a venue 5 minutes from where you live, I would advise going. MINDBLOWING
live show, immediately purchased vinyl and shook the fuck out of Tom Krell's hand.
PINK SWIRL VINYL omg he stole my heart. (I was really high on some gooood shit
that night, wow.)
Great great fucking GREAT post-rock from Alberta. this is my roomate's record but I
jam it weekly at least. it's translucent green too, swag.

Gettin my hype gun loaded
Wish You Were Here
classic jamz. first/second best album ever made.
I'll pick up the new one when I have money. So glad to see these guys starting to
get some recognition. The Vancouver Canucks are having a contest for the new
entrance song for home games, and "The House that Heaven Built" is in the final 6
hahaha. other choices: Volbeat, Nickelback (obvs), Sweet Child o Mine (please god
no). I hope hope hope jpndrds wins. Pitchfork did an article about it, VOTE!!! even
if you don't live in BC/Canada just help me out!!! I wanna go to a game this year
and hearing that as they skate on the ice instead of Nickelback would make my

A Place to Bury Strangers
Pink/purple/silver/gold/everything-coloured swirl, 180 gram. It's so. fucking. cool.
Also, great damn album.
|19||Sunny Day Real Estate|
This one of the favourite things in my ~100 record collection for the following
reasons: 1. It's my favourite indie/emo album. 2. It's two LPs of translucent pink
vinyl, looks soooo sexy when it plays. 3. Artwork is amazing, espeically full size. 4.
Came with a full size book complete with stories, lyrics, and 5 or 6 amazing pieces
of artwork in the same theme as the cover. Ugh I love this thing so much. If my
house burns down I would save all my signed records first, then this one, then all
my other colored or rare records before gtfo-ing.
|20||Yo La Tengo|
I want the new one but it's like $22 and I'm not at a place in my life where I can
spend that much money on a 4.1 maybe if it was like a 4.3 amitire?
spinnin dat wax nahmsayin
holy shit you have 2 and 19 jealous. Just jammed my Master Of Reality vinyl at max volume, felt good.
4, 8, 9, 15, 16, and 19 omg
Aids, I'm so jealous of you (lol)
and josh, your even later christmas present (let's call it a V-Day gift honey) is waiting for you
agree hard on 16
should I check out 13?
I don't know your taste at all but it's like...hmm. OK well it's part of this weird new-wave of vocal driven r&b. Think James Blake's new stuff, sort of. It's really great male vocals (he has a really good range), with some cool loops and really trippy effects. It's hard to pigeonhole really so I would recommend it to anyone, but I can't be sure that you would like it cause I don't know you. Give it a go anyway. I didn't like it that much at first, but then I saw him live and it clicked.
damn thanks for the description, yeah It can't hurt to check out. I've been on a thriftworks and andy stott and neon indian binge lately so I've seen that record pop up once or twice within the recommendations section on youtube.
sdre is awesome. nd to get that on wax
wabbit assuming you're rating the albums here, I'm guessing the two you don't like are La Dispute and....How to Dress Well? Laura?
oh wait don't you hate Hop Along?

Damn I want Get Disowned on vinyl as well, but the shipping is ridiculous :[
White Lung is a cool band. Should listen to them some more.
so jealous for 19. would love to read those stories, bet theyre super interesting. gr8 album
living in Europe would suck for vinyl shipping costs :(
I mean unless I had a more European taste which I guess I would so no worries!!!
and yeah 19 is the fucking best, so glad I own that thing
Damn, I want 3, 4, 10 and 12. Own 16 myself - good list!
Ah but living in Europe means you can pick up a fuckload of 12" tips from Hardwax like a proper selector at reasonable price
"Ah but living in Europe means you can pick up a fuckload of 12" tips from Hardwax like a proper selector at reasonable price"
This is very true.
yeah come to think of it I'm not sure which would be better. I'd probably be such a bass head if I lived in the UK so that would be aight.
Great stuff man, 11's the only one I've got, sadly.

"I could have bought like a car or some shit but NOPE instead like 100 ish pieces of plastic wooooooo."
I've been meaning to go back and listen to more Elliott Smith. He's amazing! Plus Wish You Were Here and Blue are essentials! You have some great records!
Just saw that White Lung album for 10 euros or so in the "bargain bin" of my local record shop. Went with Vessel - Order of Noise instead, but maybe I'll go get it anyway...
this is but a small portion of my record collection, but I do agree that it rules
clerc - I am seeing them on Saturday hopefully. weeeeeee!
so do you have some kind of special editon for 19 or are they all like that
because those storys sound flipping interesting
I'm not sure, I figured it was a special edition. I've only seen it one or two other times, but I never investigated cause I already own it.
it's pretty great though, lots of random snippets from interviews and stuff like that. and honestly some of the alternate artwork is even better than the cover, the inside sleeve especially. (I just tried to google search for an image of it, couldn't find one sowwwwwy!)
