I'm not religious but grew up going to church every week, decided not to get confirmed but I was still very active in community service programs etc. through my church, and I still manage to go 5 times a year or so when I'm back from school.
I'm thankful that my relationship with my church / parish has nothing to do with religion for me, anyway, it's more about a sense of community, family, friends, helping others, that kind of thing.
In my experience church can be a very positive element totally devoid of any religious significance if you let it (this being said, my church is obviously fairly liberal, tolerant, etc. and I know that may not be the norm). |

Already got used to it, and as long as nobody gets on my case just for that its cool. |

12.25.12 | went to church twice this year, first time I went to some black church in a house. Man that lady was speaking in tongues, it was so weird, and then they brought this 4 yr old girl on stage and I was like "that is just too fucking young"
2nd time I went for like 45 minutes, it was another black church so there was singing for like 25 minutes straight followed by the preacher talking about marital relationships.
