Post A Lesser-known Fave From Each Decade
And by lesser-known, up to you really. Totally obscure, or just to the average (i.e. non Sputnik type) music listener. I don't have many albums that are really that unknown.
Safe As Milk
1967. Psychedelic blues rock with some weird bits thrown in. Probably his only 'normal' album before the really off the wall stuff.
1972. Slightly proggy 70's style hard rock, with great drumming and vocals. Featuring ex-Deep Purple and Iron Butterfly members.
1989. Listened to this after reading a rec off here, not my usual cup of tea but this was great after a few listens. Something a bit different to all the 80s thrash metal.
In Search Of...
1996. Good time heavy rock with fuzzy riffs, cowbells and laid back vocals. Asphalt Rising and Cyclone Launch the standout tracks, but there's not a bad track on the album.
Rhythms From a Cosmic Sky
2007. Two 20 minute psychedelic guitar solos and a short track. That's it. That's all you need.
2010. (mid 90's) Corrosion of Conformity-type stoner rock, with big riffs and big vocals. Pretty cheesy and formulaic, but that suits me.
Yes, it's all psychedelic, stoner rock and proggy type stuff. That's what I like, fuck it.
Pretty hard to find much for the 80s in my collection, I've got mostly thrash metal, some hard rock and the Smiths/Morrissey, and not much else. All well known on here anyway.
Go ahead, rec some good stuff.
60's: Spirit - The Family That Plays Together (psych)
70's: Groundhogs - Split (psych, you'll already know Cherry Red as Eathless covered it on 5)
80's: Gary Moore - We Want Moore! (hard rock)
90's: BBM - Around the Next Dream (blues, features members of cream with Gary Moore)
00's: Causa Sui - Summer Sessions Vol 1 (prog psych)
10's: Naam - The Ballad of the Starchild (psych, EP)
Very nice picks you got there.

80's: The Dead Milkmen - Beelzebubba
90's: Dambuilders - Encendedor

Jamie - I've got that Lo-Pan album on my wishlist already (probably off one of Greg's many recs), will have to give it go asap.
I can't think of an 80s great obscure right now, so I put two 00s records instead.
