- The degrees are degrees, I want to focus on Government policy now. Criminal Justice and Sociology are solid backbones though. |

12.12.12 | I've taken two classes in my sociology department throughout my time in college and they have been two of the biggest wastes of time... sociology is an absolute joke of a science in my experience (I totally understand that it probably is simply that my school's soc department is lacking), and that's coming from a Poli Sci major haha. |

12.12.12 | I've got a job nicely lined up. I'm not going to actually USE my degrees, just the fact that I completed them is half the battle. From there on, they are used as a platform to land higher paying jobs.
I'm focusing on Government now, not Criminal Justice or Sociology

12.12.12 | xtonin: I mean yeah if you're dumb enough to get gipped into going to a bad law school and taking on tons of debt because not many schools can get you a well-paying job... tons and tons of people go into school taking on ~200,000 of debt with absolutely atrocious job prospects and yeah things are very bad
I mean I'd say like from what I've seen at the bottom 75% of all law schools you have ~50% of getting a full-time lawyer job (not to mention one well-paying enough to pay off all their debt)... how fucked up is that?
on the other hand as a result though applications are down to their lowest point since 2001 so the market is going to be slightly less saturated and more schools that give wonderful job prospects are more likely to accept applicants like me who wouldn't have usually been accepted so there's a bright side
basically (from my understanding): many law schools are complete money-making scams considering the state of the law market but those who are wary and choose the right path make it out pretty fine much of the time |
