menawati 12.07.12	there was one led zep tribute act, cant remember name right now, they did an album of original material that was better than most of plant's solo stuff
DamnVanne 12.07.12	I find that my opinion on the legitimacy of a tribute band's existence is directly related to how much I like the band who is being payed tribute. My opinion isn't even logically consistent. AC/DC tribute? Why play music that is leagues below your skill level?. Led Zeppelin? hell yes. Styx tribute? Good, tickets will be cheap and they probably play every weekend? Metallica? fuck that, Metallica technically still exists. Yes took their new singer from a tribute band. See? I don't even know what I'm talking about. The point is Yes rules.

taylormemer 12.07.12	There's a local act here called The Zep Boys; they are actually pretty decent. But I dunno, tribute acts can either be really great or really awful. I haven't come across any inbetweeners, which actually makes sense when you think about it. I agree with the sentiment that current bands need no tribute acts, only ones with a resounding legacy from the past. Also good tribute bands seem to be able to conjure something else that the original band didn't, something that adds to the originals in some way.
demigod93 12.07.12	I think tribute bands are stupid and pointless, really. Unless the band you're paying tribute too no longer exists (Beatles, Floyd, shit like that), then there is no reason to go around covering other people's work and not just making your own shit.
tommygun 12.07.12	zep boys are p good i saw them a few months back for pretty cheap they rock hard and play for like 2 and a half hours and the drummer is bonham reincarnated and they don't fucking downtune like zep did on celebration day
