Although it is probably pretty common knowledge, I had my mind blown by how many products appear to be in competition but are all owned by the same company.

Doing a project on Unilever- found out they own about 8 brands of soap and shampoo, including both Dove and Axe- which advertise themselves in extremely opposite ways.
Nestle owns nearly every major brand of pet food.
Propter And Gamble own Bounce, Downy, Tide, Gain, Cascade etc. essentially the entire laundry detergent market is owned by them.
Metro Inc.- owns Metro, Food Basics, A&P and Super C grocery stores
Unilever owns up to 90% of market share in some areas of Africa for the shampoo market

Pepsi owns thousands of brands across the globe, and now bought out the most popular casual snack in Brazil.
