Surprisingly Not-Awful Covers
The flipside to the previous list, albeit with less examples.
Considering who they are, and what the song is, I was expecting it to be a butchering of Rambo proportions, but they stick surprisingly close to the original, and therefore manage to do a good job. More power to them.
A Quick One While He's Away
See above. Tre Cool in particular is surprisingly capable of holding his own performing Keith Moon's drum lines - including that rolling one at the beginning of the 'Ivor The Engine Driver' section. It's not QUITE as awesome as the original, but it doesn't shame the band, either.
Sad But True
Urrrrrgggghhhh....as much as it pains me to say it, this one is....actually...not...bad. Even in spite of the Kroeger factor. Again, they keep it faithful, and even though the musicianship of the two groups does not quite compare, they still do...uuuuurrrgghhhh....a good job. And that's absolutely the last time you'll hear me praise Nickelback.
You need to start listening to more than 10 bands my word
I am aware of that rule, but I am posting 3 lists because I am inevitably about to disappear into the woods like a phantom. At least until I'm ready to post a review for !Dos!
Sucks, the cover of sad but true by those junkies is at the same level of the snoop dogg's cover.
