11.14.12 | Combat Evolved was great for what it did for the genre, but ultimately it has a weak level design and really horrible gameplay flaws. Like the slow melee system, the being stuck to the ground when you jump off a ledge issue, the OP pistol, etc. Halo 2 was the perfect game. It expanded the Covenant and gave you an in-depth look at their races and ways of life, as well as the Arbiter levels. The story was more in depth and the gameplay was a massive improvement. It was just better in every way. Halo 3 was just Halo 2 but not as good. |
