Ecnalzen: Melodeath/Post Hardcore Recos

XingKing 10.23.12	the Haunted is still the only band I can think of that sounds like what you want. You'd think it would be more common as metal vocals are undoubtedly shit.

JustinKing 10.23.12	Even though this style of metalcore's kinda gone off my radar, I'd suggest Bury Tomorrow, newer As I Lay Dying releases, Silent Civilian, Adeste, The Devil Wears Prada, Oh, Sleeper, and various other more modern metalcore groups. Props for Cave In, though. If you want bands in that kind of style, try Fordirelifesake, Drowningman, Gizmachi, and Skycamefalling.

Ecnalzen 10.23.12	@Justin I've heard AILD, TDWP and Oh, Sleeper. Didn't find much appeal in the first two and I would have liked Oh, Sleeper if they if they used clean vocal more often. I'll try the others and thanks for the Cave In recs. They are one of my favorite bands. Thanks, Scoot. I will give it a shot.

Ecnalzen 10.23.12	I have To Our Forefathers by I am Abomination. It's pretty cool. I know of From Autumn to Ashes but I haven't listened to them. I don't think I am familiar with the rest, except for Deaf Havana. I've only heard them since they dropped their post hardcore sound though. Alright, thanks for the recommendations, everybody. I'll start shuffling through stuff at some point.

Ecnalzen 10.24.12	Damn, you weren't kidding az. So far Kingdoms is impressive. I checked out Wolves at the Gate and The Color Morale since they had two recs. I loved the Wolves at the Gate album Captors and I dug a couple of random Color Morale tracks that I found.

benkim 10.24.12	Based on your description, Darkest hour would interest you because it has more of the Melodeth guitar style you are into and less of the Death metal vocal style that seems to put you off. Darkest Hour- Deliver Us.

I actually wasn't sure if I was going to get much out of this list after having pretty much no luck on my own, but I have all kinds of new stuff to check out now. Ecnalzen 10.24.12	Ha ha, thanks. Basically, technical part writing of the instruments (guitar being the main focus) a la melodeath, but with more of sing/scream combo instead of all screaming.

Atari 10.24.12	Lol well other than post hardcore, what metal vocalists do you like? Metallica? Megadeth? That might help me think of something. Also, I know it may sound overrated cause people talk about it so much, but you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't check out Death - Symbolic. It's technically not melodeath but for death metal it's not too extreme.
Ecnalzen 10.24.12	Hmm... To be honest, I am not a big fan of 80 metal/thrash vocals. I listen to that more for the guitar work. I really enjoy the voice of the guy from Killswitch Engage and Dallas Green (Alexisonfire) has an AMAZING singing voice but he is kind of in a league of his own, lol. Are there other metalcore bands that have a similar style to Killswitch Engage? I will try out some Death. Can't promise anything if it's straight up death metal though.

Ecnalzen 10.24.12	Ha ha, I don't know. I guess that's true. Listened to some of the Death album you suggested. You were right, it wasn't as crazy as some of the other death metal I have heard and I didn't mind it.
Atari 10.24.12	Sweet man yeah unfortunately most death metal or melodeath doesn't seem to have vocal styles similar to post hardcore but if I come across anything I'll be sure to let you know ; )
