| Stuff I'm Loving Recently |
| 1 | | DJ Shadow Endtroducing.....
I really didn't think I would like this, but DJ Shadow manages to create a genuinely
excellent album. |
| 2 | | Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Beautiful. Dark. Twisted. What better name is there for this album? This has
become one of my favorite albums of all time. Magnificent. |
| 3 | | Guns N' Roses Appetite For Destruction
One of the greatest hard rock released. Welcome To The Jungle is just a
powerhouse of energy, and Sweet Child O' Mine is a surprisingly awesome love
song. Nearly every other song is also a winner. |
| 4 | | Massive Attack Mezzanine
Ah, I remember the times when I only listened to classic rock. Boy, was I missing
out on albums like this. Teardrop is one of the best songs of the '90s. |
| 5 | | R.E.M. Document
R.E.M. is one of the only bands I still really love from when I was six years old. I
had their greatest hits from 1988-2003. Document just missed the cut, and it
definitely has some quality tracks that could have been released on a greatest hits
album. One I Love is awesome. |
| 6 | | Weezer The Blue Album
The Blue Album is an excellent release from Weezer. Their debut album was
released in a time when dark grunge took over the world. This poppy release was
so much more innocent than anything else in 1994. |
| 7 | | Fleet Foxes Fleet Foxes
The harmonies. Wow, they learned something from the Beach Boys. The simplicity
of White Winter Hymnal is great, and the harmonies work so well. This is one of the
best albums of 2008. |
| 8 | | LCD Soundsystem Sound of Silver
What? Me, listening to LCD Soundsystem? Yes! The genre-defying release from
James Murphy (what is that? Dance? Punk? Post-Rock?) is amazing, intricate, and
very well thought out. |
| 9 | | Bon Iver For Emma, Forever Ago
Bon Iver's debut album is absolutely beautiful. Skinny Love is an amazing song,
and that climax on The Wolves is tear-jerking. |
| 10 | | Arcade Fire The Suburbs
I fell in love with Arcade Fire's 2004 release, Funeral, so I decided to check this
out. It was nearly, nearly as beautiful, epic and ambitious. Nearly. |
| 11 | | The Black Keys Brothers
The 2010 album from blues-rock duo The Black Keys is just a great rock album.
The falsettos on Everlasting Light are great, and Howlin' For You is just so damn
catchy. |
| 12 | | Joy Division Unknown Pleasures
Oh. My. God. Why. Did. I. Not. Listen. To. Joy. Division. Earlier. |
| 13 | | Public Enemy It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back
I was never into rap until a few months ago. I listened to this album and I was
blown away. Bring da noiz. |
| 14 | | Megadeth Rust In Peace
I HATED metal up until I heard this album. I found it way too loud, and It just made
me feel anxious. But that intro on Holy Wars...The Punishment Due... |
| 15 | | The Police Synchronicity
Every breath you take/Every move you make/Every bond you break/Every step
you take/I'll be watching you. |
