Top 10 (Other) Sevendust Songs
Here it is, yet another list for one of my rrfavourite bands: Sevendust. Enjoy. |
| 1 | Sevendust Hope
Definitely shamed me to not have this song on my last list. This song is
fantastic and it
features one of the greatest guitar solos that I've ever heard (kudos to Mark
Tremonti).
Very nice piano intro as well, with a little bit of eerie background noise,
helps introduce
Lajon into the track and he puts on one of his finest performances. The chorus
is
powerful, lengthy and outstanding in every way. Top notch stuff. |
| 2 | Leech
My favourite B-side track from these guys, it comes off of the Freddy vs. Jason
soundtrack. Here's a music video that I made with the song:

| 3 | Live Again
Another beautiful example on why Animosity is my favourite album from these guys. |
| 4 | Suffocate
Seasons had a lot of filler, and it remains to be my least favourite Sevendust
album, but
whenever a good song showed up... mostly they all turned to amazingly well. This
song
has a very strong pace to it, there's a steady beat held throughout and it
finally breaks
up a bit when the final chorus debuts. Solid track, should have been a single. |
| 5 | Forever
Amazing drumming. Cold Day Memory may not be a masterpiece, but it had it's
moments and it is (IMO) the band's best instrumental performance (it holds your
interest even with some of it's weaker tracks throughout). A strong album, but a
fantastic track that I somewhat underrated when I first listened to it. |
| 6 | Alpha
One of the angriest, most intense, hate-ridden tracks that I've ever heard...
yet it never
fails to put one of the biggest smiles on my face whenever it closes the awesome
album (of the same name). "Alpha" rules hard on all imaginable fronts, and the
climax
helps remind you that the album's over with Morgan screaming: "NOW GO ****
YOURSELF!". |
| 7 | Hurt (Live)
This was dedicated to Johnny Cash, which in turn was a cover of the Nine Inch
Nails
song (only better). Sometimes Lowery's vocals stumble a bit, but it picks up
with the
incredible chorus thanks to Morgan on drumming. Really great live performance
right
here. |
| 8 | Born To Die
A favourite, off of their self-titled, of mine. They chose it to close the album
and it was
quite the choice, Lajon delivers a very rough and intense vocal delivery
throughout and
Clint helps make the chorus one of the shining moments on this entire,
historically
awesome, album. |
| 9 | Under
Nothing too off-the-charts about this track, just that it's really confident and
it always
grabs my interest. "Under" comes off of Alpha, which is a great Sevendust album
and it
appeals more to their earlier roots while channelling just a bit of Animosity
(especially
with Lajon's vocals). |
| 10 | The End Is Coming
One of the more underrated tracks from the band's most underrated album. This
song
also brings to mind Call Me No One's album Last Parade that features two
Sevendust
members. A very cool track with a fantastic break before it's final chorus. |
