09.08.12 | Storyline rules though. So many "kings," it's going to be madness |
fsharptrit0ne
09.08.12 | yea the 3rd is perfect but then it gets shitty so savor it while you can |
heyadam
09.08.12 | I heard that the 4th is pretty hard to get through : / |
fsharptrit0ne
09.08.12 | rr martin split up the characters so between dance and feast ( originally it was just supposed to be one fucking big book) so in feast theres no dany or tyrion and instead you have to follow around cersei |
Skoop
09.08.12 | 3rd is best, then it gets boring as hell |
heyadam
09.08.12 | Even though that sucks you don't see two of the coolest characters, I'm actually pretty interested on gaining more insight to Cersei. So she's pretty much the main focus of Feast? |
menawati
09.08.12 | Jaime Lannister is the best character because he's so pragmatic and believable. |
ViralOblivion
09.08.12 | God I loved the blackwater episode you were cheering for both sides but you didn't want Tyrion to die and the director of the
descent did excellent on it |
HitlerIsTheBest
09.08.12 | ive seen some pretty harsh reviews for the books, not sure if i want to give them a chance. |
menawati
09.08.12 | I've tried reading them hitler and first couple are ok but later ones get really boring. |
heyadam
09.08.12 | Bran's chapters are soooo boring to me. Even the prophetic images he has are vague and shallow. The books (the two I've read) are great. I love the character development. But yeah Viral, that was awesome! Jaime is starting to grow on me as a character, who's everybody else's favorite? |
HitlerIsTheBest
09.08.12 | yeah i heard there are way too many plots and shit going on and so many loose ends and new story arcs randomly come out of nowhere before the other one is even done, and that characters randomly die. i guess he was trying to write a realistic story or something, but it sounds like it didnt turn out well at all. |
ViralOblivion
09.08.12 | I would have to say Jamie his character is one of the most evolving over the books but for the show probably arya, Tyrion and Tyrions right hand man I always forget his name |
menawati
09.08.12 | @hitler - I think the phrase you are looking for is 'disappears up it's own arse' |
heyadam
09.08.12 | Bron is his name. But yeah, Arya is definitely mine. And Hitler, it does have a ton of arcs and you can get lost between then, and he introduces A LOT of characters, but it doesn't really hinder my experience that much. He does an amazing job with twists and unforeseen events, and I love the dynamics in the characters |
Dreamflight
09.08.12 | Hope to see more of Jaqen in the next books, great character. |
ReturnOfTheDnor
09.08.12 | Spent 4 days watching seasons 1 and 2 in order, every episode. Then bought the entire ASoFaI series and proceeded to read them all.
The show is awesome, books even better. Wish I didn't have to wait until April for season 3. Was really hoping to see a Winter release with the tagline "Winter is Coming" |
TheSpirit
09.08.12 | Such an amazing show. You even have the same top 2 as me. Hate the fact that its still so long before the next season |
heyadam
09.08.12 | @Dream Jaqen rocks, stoked to see more of him! @Return pretty much the same, although I don't have a lot of time to read because of all of the reading I have to do for school. I'm reading them slowly but surely though. @Spirit I cannot stress how much Arya rocks. |
JohnnyoftheWell
09.08.12 | I read up to (and including) Feast for Crows, skipped first book coz I saw the episodes and was lazy. Clash of Kings is good, Storm of Swords is excellent. Am reading Wheel of Time atm (which I prefer, but it hasn't got crap yet (book 7)) |
ViralOblivion
09.08.12 | I agree first season was better second was good it was just missing that little extra something |
heyadam
09.09.12 | Third season should rule though. I'm really looking forward to seeing who decides to attack who and stuff like that. There are so many forces out there |
heyadam
09.09.12 | Just finished A Clash of Kings, so stoked to start Storm of Swords! |
apert
09.09.12 | honestly i think casting Sean Bean as Ned Stark was a massive spoiler, he dies in everything so it was obvious Ned would die. The 3rd book is the best and i heard there doing it over 2 seasons |
heyadam
09.09.12 | ^I think that's just a coincidence haha, I honestly didn't see his death coming. I knew it was a possibility, but I was like "yeah it's Ned Stark, there is no way he can die." |
menawati
09.09.12 | 'honestly i think casting Sean Bean as Ned Stark was a massive spoiler, he dies in everything'
haha so true, poor guy dies twice in Goldeneye |
menawati
09.09.12 | thats pretty accurate |
NoMeansYes
09.09.12 | slow but worth it? or not? I don't want to shell out and invest all that time reading if the payoff is shit. Especially as I can just watch the 'good bits' on the TV |
heyadam
09.09.12 | I heard the fifth picks back up haha. |
Pentagon
09.09.12 | " Tyrion, though, is witty and hilarious, and is the most honorable out of the Lannisters"
That isnt saying much..... |
heyadam
09.09.12 | I think it'll be worth it even if it's slow. A have a couple friends that are huge fans of the books and they told me to watch out for the 4th one because it's a tough one to get through, but I'm sure it's still worth the read
|
ThunderNeutral21
09.09.12 | whoever said that season 1 of got was better than season 2 is a tard |
heyadam
09.09.12 | Martin gave the plotlines to the series production team in case he died before he finishes the book. They'll finish the story off through the show if Martin dies before he finishes the planned 7 |
NoMeansYes
09.09.12 | yeah I read that somewhere. Strange to think that the readers may be forced to watch the TV adaptation to complete the story if Martin croaks |
heyadam
09.09.12 | Strange, but there isn't much of an alternative. I mean, Martin could try and get a Sorcerer's Stone but I don't think ol' Voldy will be too happy about that |
NoMeansYes
09.09.12 | lol |
Pentagon
09.09.12 | "Martin gave the plotlines to the series production team in case he died before he finishes the book. They'll finish the story off through the show if Martin dies before he finishes the planned 7"
Thats weird, because I remember reading an interview where he said that he mostly writes the story as he goes along. But I guess he has the main plotline figured out already |
heyadam
09.09.12 | I'm pretty sure it was like an outline of ideas, or at least the big plot wrap-ups. |
apert
09.09.12 | The 4th book is better than most people make it out to be, yeah it's a bit slow paced and Brienne's chapters are a bit boring. But Cersei and Jaime have decent chapters and the slower pace is necessary to move characters to the places they need to be for the end of the series. |
guitarnater
09.09.12 | I could completely copy this list and it would be still be true, dude |
heyadam
09.09.12 | haha that's awesome man. I'm really hoping Jaqen plays a bigger role with Arya later. |
