08.05.12 | When I was 7-ish my mom bought me blink-182's Enema of State (probably a terrible parenting decision) because I loved the song "All The Small Things", and that was the first actual album I ever loved. Then when I was about 10 my uncle bought me the Yellow Submarine Soundtrack by the Beatles and I got really into that. Then during my freshman year in high school over the span of about three months I bought "Is This It" by The Strokes, "OK Computer" by Radiohead, and "London Calling" by the Clash and those three albums basically shaped my current musical tastes. |

08.06.12 | Killswitch Engage and the whole early/mid 00s melodic metalcore boom. Unearth, All That Remains, AILD, Shadows Fall, Parkway, A7X. It was a step up in heaviness and quality from Nu Metal. Before that I was mainly just listening to the obvious rock stuff and whatever else was popular. Metalcore eased me more into screaming and shit just not on the radio all day I guess. I realized there was good music outside Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Now metalcore bores me for the most part, but it did its job. |

then American Idiot, and then RATM's debut. After those, it all started spiraling out of control. For the best, really. I
discover new stuff all the time now.
I only really discovered hip-hop last year with Odd Future and OutKast, and just indulged from there.

The first album I remember owning was Micheal Jackson's thriller on cassette.
The first album I remember buying was either RHCP - Mother's Milk or Blood Sugar Sex Magik or Nirvana - Nevermind or Bleach. Both bands were extremely popular at the time but RHCP already had a hit with Knock Me Down. I was a huge fan of both and I got all four albums at roughly the same time.
Prior to that I was recording songs off the radio onto my tape deck.
