"depends on your technique" ive heard this before but does anyone know proper vs bad technique sometimes i feel when i do harsh vocals which im good at it strains my vocal chords and im wondering if my messing up my voice permanantely or if it can overtime

You are going to want to stay hydrated and not over do it when you scream or else you can cause damage but if you take the proper precautions you will be fine. Only inhale screaming can hurt you long term.

Funeralopolis 07.03.12	You can usually scream for like 2-3 hours before it starts hurting using proper technique i find. Singing for that long I am sure would be hard on you as well. Keep hydrated, and take breaths when you actually need them or work to improve your stamina so you don't go without breathing too long too often.

suppatime 07.06.12	Definitely breath a lot. If your intervals between breathing are too long it'll hurt your head. Don't ever inhale scream (obviously) and keep it coming from your diaphragm. Basically what everyone has said with the hydration. I've been screaming for about 3 or 4 years. Also, the screaming doesn't really affect the cleans unless you're pushing too hard. When you push too hard the high cleans get a harder to hit and your voice is weaker.

suppatime 07.06.12	It kinda feels like when you're doing sit-ups. You basically tighten your stomach and force all of your air into the bottom and just howl like a wolf. And then the women become wet.
