Attn Metal Militia
Ok metal militia, since you wish to represent the mass of the metalheads on this website, there need to be some changes. No more poopy metal that you are all used to. These are 10 albums you will listen to, and you will love, this is not a request this is a demand, listen and enjoy.
|1||Wolves in the Throne Room|
This album destroys and USBM to date. No crappy vocals, no droning boring atmospheres, just amazing atmospheric black metal with great vocals and musicianship. Listen to this album and tell me it does not destroy bands like Leviathan or Xasthur.
Winds of Creation
As much credit as this album gets, I have not seen any of you on this militia talk about it. Superb technical death metal with nearly flawless playing. This stuff also happens to be brutal as hell and was made by people your age and younger, listen to it.
If you claim to be a melodic black metal fan and have not heard this album your a failure at life. This album has indescribable atmosphere with soothing keyboard, solid instrumental work and fantastic vocals.
Songs of Moors and Misty Fields
This album is a gem in folk and symphonic metal. Amazing vocals and beautiful instrumental work, the folk elements are used just the right amount without overdoing it and the whole album has an epic feel.
Abigor - Nachthymnen (From the Twilight Kingdom)
Furious black metal with a mix of mild folk elements that make it an epic experience, incredible vocals from Silenius of Summoning also add to its value.
Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame
If this album does not make you feel heroic then you have no soul, this album is easily Summonings most epic and is perfect in every way.
Cause of Death
Yet another highly acclaimed album that none of you seem to talk about. Awesome old school death metal with kick ass vocals and solos. If you don't bang your head on the song Body Bag you lose.
The Gathering Wilderness
Hard to describe this album, you could call it folk metal, but it is so unique that may not even apply to it. Just know this is powerful music.
Into The Infernal Regions Of The Ancient
This is an epic black metal album, the vocals... yeah they are very strange but they fit well I guess, the instrumental work, especially the drumming rules.
Dance of December Souls
Probably my favorite Katatonia album, sorrowful and powerful. This is nothing like their new stuff though, it is doom metal with some black elements with some small but fitting and amazing keyboard use, amazing album.
cause of death is not that good
metal militia is a joke
I whole heartedly agree with both of you on all fronts, except I like CoD.
Metal Militia is a joke mo fo. I dont think I ever listen to bad metal, not that i'm aware of. I never heard 10 but should make that a priority. Brave Murder Day and Tonights Decision are my favorites. I also wasn't aware Wolves came out with a new album.
you know that metal militia is a company/group of supercross riders right?
you faggots can't even come up with an original name, let alone original taste.
good list. primordial is "pagan metal" whatever the fuck that means.
Nice list. I've never heard 9 or 10.
I actually heard about m.m bein a moto x team awhile back. Calling us faggots because we were having a bit of fun, Fuck you.
im all for fun but come on, you guys started an e-posse. that's pretty lame
fun is great, unless it's faggot fun!
Actually, I take the blame since I kinda threw it out in the open and then it blew out of proportion.
Yea, God forbid you have fun. I mean, to be cool, you've got to be a ubiquitous and shady elite rite?. None of this name stuff. Its sooo not Indie.
Wow, obscure foreign death metal. Sounds like ... "fun"
Yeah because Decapitated and Obituary are SUPER obscure O_o
Never heard of anyone on this list other than Katatonia.
Im pretty good with hearing alot of different bands too.
yeah like RHCP and pink floyd
Obviously you're not, because nothing on here is really all that obscure besides maybe Wolves in the Throne Room or Inquisition, and thats a stretch. And there are like... 2 death metal albums on here.
i just ordered that decapitated album, cant wait to hear it.
I've actually heard parts (if not all) of 1, 2, 6, 7, and 10 and wasn't really impressed. I was already in the process of checking out 5, as suggested by south_of_heaven. The only Katatonia album I can listen to is TCDD. I like Summoning but I haven't heard anything from that particular album. I absolutely despise Decapitated (and, strangely, pretty much every other Polish metal band) with a passion that burns deep within my soul.
After all that, I'm left to check out 3, 4, 8, and 9. Thanks, I'm always looking for new bands.
I've heard all these except 5 and 9.
Nah, you haven't. Because, if you had. Most of if not all of these bands would be in your favorites, and I failed to see 1. >_>
Not likely. Crysis is quite black metal - oriented.
I think "The End Complete" is better than COD. I have read the metal militia stuff and while cheesy, seems too innocent to be so harshly labeled. And the moto x team is Metal Mulisha, and they also sponsor underground bare knuckle fighting. It was started by Brian Deegan. I am a huge fan because I love to ride and fight
omg he listens to Leviathan and Darkthrone, he is so well versed in black metal :-O
I used to idolize Deegs when I rode. I still fight though (however, I don't roll bare-knuckle, rather mma style).
Uhh, Angmar, Crysis listens to more bm than that. Did you see his reviews, album ratings, etc? It's mostly bm and folk, with splashes of melodeath.
i think you know which ones i like on this list, especially the obituary but good list.
