Acanthus 06.23.12	I watched the original and loved it, when Brotherhood came out they changed voice actors and it bugged me enough to steer clear of it. Brotherhood follows the manga closer, and has a lot more characters than the original introduced so it's worth your time.

The torrent will take way too long and I won't be able to play it on my ps3 until I convert the files, so it's just not worth it haha. Did they just remake the series because they deviated so far from the manga?

KritikalMotion 06.23.12	brotherhood destroys the original. the original was good when i first saw it, but nothing amazing. brotherhoods scope of story and character building is so much bigger and better. +amazing animation pretty much adam, original series diverts from manga not too far in, quality of brotherhoods story is on another level.

Eclecticist 06.23.12	I have yet to see Brotherhood. I followed the original and was in love with it from beginning to end. The only other anime show that I have seen which is as good is Death Note. No others even come close.
KritikalMotion 06.23.12	How much anime have you seen? I found FMA to be quite shallow character wise, but enjoyable. You should definitely watch Brotherhood, you just have to get used to some things being different, especially names. The only negative for brotherhood to me is that the beginning is not as good as the original, but thats mainly because they didn't want to make an exact copy so it goes quite fast at the start. Death Note is great, though the second season doesn't compare to the first.

If the aspect ratio is a problem you can convert it with any standard video editing software. Although I don't understand how that relates to it not being watchable on an HD monitor, video quality would make sense, not the size of the picture....
Eclecticist 06.23.12	It makes sense that FMA is 4:3 because that is the standard aspect ratio for television shows. 16:9 is for widescreen which is common for movies but also isn't standard unless the director intentional wanted a broader peripheral view. If 4:3 is bothering you then you can use Powerdirector 10 to convert the aspect ratio and then use their tool guide to manually edit the extent of the stretch. OR you can set your own aspect ratio using Powerdirector 10.

Xenophanes 07.12.12	Went crazy for this back in 05 or so when it came to the states. Read the manga and everything. Manga was great (same as brotherhood which I have not seen) but oddly enough I liked the original TV show's ending much better.

HitlerIsTheBest 07.12.12	original was better in the beginning but didnt unfold as well and the ending sucked huge dick. in brotherhood it felt like the beginning was rushed because they were just trying to get through the episodes already covered by the original, but the story progressed much better and the ending was good. brotherhood was better overall. not the greatest anime out there but it was entertaining.
