| The Melodic Catalogue
So this list will be solely comprised of music that I consider melodic and catchy, since that is my favourite kind of music. Along with each album will be a short description, as well as other bands that fit the group. If you have any recs that are related to these bands (not the genre!), please tell me of them, so that I'll be able to increase my catalogue. Cheers! | 1 | | Counterparts The Current Will Carry Us
This band is probably the reason I created the list; I love the melodic vibe, with the tuneful guitars at every turn. The lyrics and music are inspiring as well, which is certainly a boost in my books. Similar bands: The Ghost Inside, Hundredth, | 2 | | Architects Daybreaker
Probably one of my favourite records this year. I would file it under melodic metalcore, just because of its excellent use of clean vocals and electronics. Similar bands: Erra, Times of Grace, Haste the Day | 3 | | Deaf Havana Fools and Worthless Liars
Love, love, love this record! I honestly can't get enough of it; I consider it one of the prime alternative records of the late 2000's decade. Similar bands: I The Mighty, We are the Ocean, Dredg | 4 | | Jack's Mannequin Everything in Transit
Catchy pop rock, with excellent vocals and beat. Similar bands: Mae, Panic at the Disco, Deas Vail | 5 | | Pierce the Veil Collide with the Sky
I haven't heard the album yet (waiting for better quality leak), but from what I've heard so, it sounds awesome. Similar bands: Adept, Circa Survive, Secret and Whisper | 6 | | Skyharbor Blinding White Noise:Illusion & Chaos
I have no other label to use than "djent", but let's be honest, it doesn't really matter how I label it, the music's still good. Very reminiscent of Tesseract, seeing as the ex-vocalist has recorded with this band. Similar bands: Periphery, Tesseract, Forever Orion, Corelia | 7 | | Lydia Illuminate
One of the few indie bands I listen to, which may be due to the alternative-style vocals. Similar bands: Copeland, My Epic, | 8 | | Draper Draper
This is me trying to get into electronic music, so I'd really appreciate recs for this section. Other songs I enjoy are: Stella by Kashiwa Daisuke, Scary Monsters by Skrillex (bite me, the melody's catchy) and She Just Likes to Fight by Four Tet | 9 | | Memphis May Fire The Hollow
Quite similar to category 2, this is simply the post hardcore version of it. Similar bands: Dance Gavin Dance, Emery, Of Mice and Men | 10 | | Hands like Houses Ground Dweller
Running out of albums, so this is simply a place-holder for now. | |
