So I Just Realized...

That Oh, Sleeper is pretty much a mathcore band. Of course not a more traditional one, such as Botch, Converge, TDEP, Deadguy and Cave In. But if you listen to the music in terms of technicality and such they definitely have it. I'll explain:
1Oh Sleeper
When I Am God

Well some may ask, what is mathcore Chuck? Well, basically, a more complex and dissonant version of metalcore. And also many mathcore bands use odd-time signatures, whether that be with the use of polymeters or polyrhythms.
2Oh Sleeper
Son of the Morning

Now while only Children of Fire is the only album I'd truly consider mathcore that doesn't mean their other 2 albums don't have traces of it. On When I Am God there is plenty of dissonance and interesting guitar work. Same with Son of the Morning.
3Oh Sleeper
Children of Fire

I mean have you guys heard this record? Holy crazy technical riffs everywhere. I think the only thing Oh Sleeper is missing to be a full-fledged mathcore band is more interesting song structures as opposed to verse-bridge-chorus-verse type songs. I really hope that on their next release they go down a proggy/uber technical path musically, They definitely have it in them.
