About MxPx:I dont know a whole lot about MxPx but I do know a couple of things about them.I know that they first started their band in 1992.Theyre also a great punk band like rancid or operation ivy. They recored their first cd called pokinatcha with about 21 songs in 1994.They realsed their 2nd album called teenage politics and their 3rd album called on the cover in 1995.In 1996 they came out with life in general, the album I will be reviewing. It was their 4th album and my favorite album by MxPx.They also made 3 videos in 1 weekend from this album and they were "chick magnet","doing time",and "move to bremerton".Later on they recored more albums and went on some tours but im not going to go through it all.Well, maybe I knew more about MxPx then I thought.

About this album:This album is simalar to operation ivy's album energy. They both start with one of the best songs on the album. For mxpx it was "middlename"and for operation ivy it was "knowledge".This album isnt poppy like the album Before everything & after which makes it so awseame. For the most part,if you like rancid or operation ivy,you would like this band and this album.

What I liked about this album:I really liked how in many of the songs there where fast drums because it really made the songs seem better. There werent many songs about girls and when so of them were(move to bremerton, andrea, chick magnet, cristalena and a few more)they were still fast paced and punk.I liked the singers voice because its not high pitched and squeeky.Hes just got that punk voice which is awseame.

What I didnt like about this album:Even when this album was so awseame, there still were a few things I didnt like about it.Most of the songs sounded simalar and there were maybe 1 or 2 songs that I didnt like much. But I cant find many things about the album that I didnt like.

fav. songs
middlename
my mom still cleans my room
the wonder years
chick magnet
doing time

overall:This album was an awseame punk album.Like I said if you like rancid or operation ivy,you would probably like MxPx.I would reccomend you to buy this album or any other album by MxPx exsept for Before everything & after.

Your description of albums are still vague. It was an alright review, I guess. MxPx are horrible, in my opinion.

Their best album. Highly underrated and overlooked. This one, 'Buffalo' and 'TEPA' are three quality albums, even if their other ones are kinda bland. (I haven't heard the new one) However, this is the only one I would give this score to. "Southbound" is another great and under-appreciated song.

terrible, terrible review. imma find a way to re-write this review, and since i know music more than a guy who keeps comparing this band to Operation Ivy, it should be an improvement to say the least

How is this album even remotely close to Operation Ivy. I actually have a hard time thinking about more different sounding band.... maybe Crass? Faith No More?

Anyway, by far their best album. Many classics (well classics if you grew up listening to this album like I did) in this album. They did kind of lose their edge after Slowly Going the Way of The Buffalo.
