Review Summary: The darker side of nonsense indeed… Dry Kill Logic seems to break through the dark with their 2nd release bringing us the solid definition of hardcore and aggressiveness that many seek to find…

Dry kill logic never ceases to amaze the listener with this album. There is a great balance of singing and yelling/screaming and another balance of hard and soft songs which is hard to find in the days of nu-metal and metalcore. Even if you’re a hardcore kid at heart you can still listen to them because if you love the hard stuff even the songs that start out soft don’t stay that way at all. Dry kill logic keeps on coming back to you with their true heart and soul of hardcore.

With tracks like nightmare, pain, nothing, assfault, better man than me, and rot give that extreme sense of heavy and in our face that you could be looking for. Each one of theses songs don’t ever stop giving you the strong drums in your face riffs and extremely powerful vocals. Please don’t get me wrong here he is not the most talented of vocalists but is a nice one for the genre. He does all of the singing and screaming/yelling. So in songs like pain where there is an extreme going back and forth between the two it’s kind of cool to think about. And don’t get me wrong here either there are extremely powerful and right on live.

It’s the songs listed above that got me into the band like the song Rot, was the first song I heard and still one of my favorites I mean you hear this song and if you love the stuff that when you hear it you just say wow now that was badass then I just simply sat listen to this song.

Then if you’re a guitar person then there is songs like nothing that have cool guitars now mind the fact that they are hardcore so they are no Mark Morton or Ken Susis’. But there is some talent in there, there is a lot of harmonic parts like in “better man than me” and “assfault” where it still put the smile in my face that I look for when listening to guitars.

If you’re a drum kind of guy then you would not be bored by this album either tracks like better man than me and rot grab your attention the way that drums should. Better man than me starts off with a powerful drum intro that immediately grabs your attention.

With the tracks like feel the break, weight, track 13, give up, give in, lie down. And goodnight that are the tracks that give you a softer side of hardcore. All of these songs generate a great balance of singing and screaming where some of them are more singing than screaming too.

So in short the album starts out heavy has a “tweener” track like the ones listed above and then is heavy then dies out for the rest of the album… nope just kidding there is a track on the end of the album right before the ending that is called “ the strength I call my own”. This track is down right heavy, it starts out with some different guitars and some talking which leads into some sluggish heavy riffs and then some fast pace screaming/ yelling. I keep saying that because I haven’t decided if it’s screaming or yelling. But nonetheless this was a great track to grab you attention once again. Then an all singing very quite track called goodnight finishes us off in our listen of Dry Kill Logic.

All in all this album was truly a great adventure into hardcore for me and hopefully this has persuaded you to check them out and form an opinion on them. With great guitars and drums and powerful vocals you are snatched to attention ant every corner, every which way you look until you have reached the end of your journey through the darker side of nonsense.

Band name kind of sucks. Album name is good, though.

A good overview of the album. I have no idea what I was on when I bought this album back in the nu-metal days.

All I know about them is a couple tracks from the Gigantour CD.

Not very good. I think. Cute review though.

I really enjoyed this album when i bought it a few years ago. there is an incredible energy in this album. But I was disappointed by "the dead and the dreaming", their next album. This Message Edited On 03.14.08

I still like the song Rot on this release. For some funny shit, replace the lyrics with those from the Spice Girls Wannabe :D
