There's something a little bit wrong with Blitzen Trapper. They sound like a country-rock Pavement, with plenty of jaw harp and messy distorted guitar to go around. And with that setup, a bad album is pretty hard to make. Blitzen Trapper come pretty darn close. Songs meander into long fits of dullness, and never seem to come back to the original promising bits. There's a lot of potential in this band if they can just pull their act together long enough to create one very solid song.
