The OFFICIAL E.Q. thread.

Due to numerous threads asking about different e.q.'s I have decided to make one thread that shall go in the archive. I request that members submit e.q.s that are for genre's(metal, punk...etc.) and for artists(flea, fieldy...etc.). Also submitting audio samples wouldn't hurt.

When inexperienced memebers make a thread about asking about how to find the right e.q., many reply with "Just mess around until you find what you like.", but this is what the thread starter is looking for. Inexperienced players need guidance in the world of e.q. because it is a broad, and they don't know where to start.

Try and keep your submissions in the form of...

bass(low) -
mid-
treble(high)-


because everybody has that on their amp.

if someone submits an e.q. for metal, and your is different, submit yours too. Hopefully we will have many submissions for every genre, and popular artists, so the inexperienced players will have a lot to choose from. If there is anything i left out, let me know.

this tone isn't that bad if you use your fingers and you have a p-bass, it's kinda flea-ish.

gain is the amount your signal is boosted before it gets to your pre-amp/e.q..

I dont know what genre to call them, but for Fugazi songs i use

bass - 8/10
mid - 6/7
treble - 9/10

i have a 7 band eq but i slightly dip the very low, dip the mids and raise the highs a bit. i also have some settings in the zoom pedal but i can't remember them.


oh yeah, when i play spinal tap i put everything on 11.

My amp is the BA112. Two settings I like are:


Style - 1 (low boost)
Bass - 4
Mid - 4.5
Treb - 7.5

Style - 1
Bass - 6
Mid - 3
Treb - 6.5

Standard
L 10
M 6
H 7

Slap/Pop
L 5
M 9
H 10

but | change these with almost every song | do.


As for the 7 band on my amp...| just change it till | get what | want.

It would still be better than my old bass, which didn't even have a working volume knob
