Well you kick off to start the game, then you can punt the ball away and field goals to score. There's also a very obscure rule that you can drop kick(bounce the ball on the ground then kick it) the ball for a field goal but its only been attempted like twice in the past 50 years. Was common way back when but then they changed the shape of the football so it can be passed easier and the drop kick became useless cause a football doesn't bounce straight up usually.

Rugby players drop kick the ball all the time for drop goals, shouldn't be that hard

Rugbys are rounder. Footballs have more of a point so they bounce weird.
