android gaming

i have a htc one x

stunning piece of kit

i have seen a lot of chat about how to get really going in terms of emulators or soft roms or whatever

what i'd really like to understand is about how people are getting on gaming on android, what internet resources they are using and what are the best and worst games

i got a nexus 7 recently so ive been gaming a bit on that

emulators/roms are easy to set up and have pretty much any game you can think of, as far as actual games made for android ive learned that anything with an on-screen joystick, or fps's in general are pretty terrible. I would stick with strategy games, hack-n-slash diablo clones, and emulators tbh

oh alright i getcha now.

first thing you want to do is root your phone and get one some version of cyanogen mod (up to 10 now i believe)

get acquainted with this site specifically

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1533

that one is for your specific phone.

once you root and learn how to put on that custom rom (jelly bean 4.2.1 CM) your blue tooth stack will be changed and now you can pair a wii controller or ps3 controller to your phone.

at that point you are pretty much set. if you want me to recommend games I like I can, or even show you were to get roms. GTA with the ps3 controller is pretty sweet.

sorry. i got reinstated (sort of) on my other forum and I generally don't prefer the "regulars" on this forum, if you know what I mean.

Sword and Sworcery is good. Played a decent amount of FF3 (need a cracker app for that one)

Let me know what you're into. Games that interest me might not be your bag, and vice versa

the ps1 emulator is quite good. game boy advance has some issues with specific games but works well. I've beaten a few games for SNES and NES so those run fine.

If you like Rpgs : Chaos Rings by Square Enix is quite good

Osmos HD is nice to kill about 30 minutes at a time

is the great big one any different from the great little one? I downloaded the GLWG but it is not really doing anything for me, feels like its missing something that keeps it from being fun. I think i might be spoiled from playing advanced wars on emulator but i played it for like 10min and never again.

connect a ps3 controller to your phone and then you're all set
