Timecrimes (Los cronocrímenes) - A nice original Spanish take on a time travel film, well worth a watch.

Why do people lump those two together? It always aggravates me.

And what type of sci-fi? You have intellectual sci-fi like 2001, or awesome action sci-fi like Star Trek First Contact. Both movies are some of my favorites, but for radically different reasons.

In that case, Star Trek First Contact is one of my five favorite movies (and for that matter, Star Trek II and VI are both excellent as well). District 9. The Matrix. 2001 A Space Odyssey. Alien and Aliens. Just off the top of my head.

Forgot about the original Day the Earth Stood Still.

And First Contact is not bad. Bad ass, yes. It is full of plot holes, but there's a reason why I distinguish it from the more intellectual sci-fi films. And its a good film overall, well made, to this date it has the best looking ships and space battle ever.

Damn I keep forgetting things. Minority Report was pretty awesome. Its one of Spielberg's best movies, and its definitely one of the most underrated in his backcatalog.

Starship Troopers is lolzworthy, and has exploding bugs and titties, but really, if you read the book, the movie is a huge major disappoint of astronomical proportions. And I'm not talking about Denise Richards' measurements either.

Cant remember much about Book of Eli apart from the ending, which was pretty good.

Would you guys consider The Machinist sci-fi? For some reason I assumed it was sci-fi, but looking back it's more of a thriller I think

Children of Men is not a Sci-Fi movie ( said the guy who made the movie )

The Fountain is one the least understood films and must be seen multiple times ( if you can handle that )

The best sci-fi I've seen recently is Charlie Brooker's "Black Mirror"

It's a 3 episode mini series ( they are releasing mnore soon! YAY! )

The first ep is not very sci-fi but 2 and 3 are sci-fi, and they are Masterful. Masterful...

Can't rec it hard enough
