I nearly passed out in a seminar today cos I ran and rowed this morning on an empty stomach and I didn't have a chance to eat lunch. scary shit. need to be more organised. might start bringing sandwiches cos they're easier to eat in tricky situations.

That almost happened to me at a lacrosse practice and we were doing sprints. Happened right after a big adrenaline rush too.

Then i bonked...

I actually thought it was sweet until my body realized it was running on fumes and gave me a big "NO SIR!".

Had the tunnel vision thing going too. It made sense going forward why someone would want to run track or cross-country.

Urgh, not eating and exercising is horrible

it sucks having to co-ordinate eating/letting food settle/exercising though.

I just did a 7 mile run with the most amazing 100m~ sprint at the end. Running gives you so much energy and it sucks not using it.

mate how do you sprint after 7 miles. the most I've ever ran is 6 miles and I wanted to die at the end of that.

Steady pace I guess

once you get your rhythm you don't really use that much energy

I suck at swimming though

Yeah I guess, I just have bad shins you know, so after a while they proper hurt and it tires me. Kinda bad knees as well. Bad knees are pretty much from playing football; slide tackling and getting mullered.
More sprints and non-impact activities are alright though.

academically it's going real well, two papers with me as co-author have been accepted for publication in scientific journals - they will be my first papers (and there's more coming!)

romantically it's not going well though... my antennas must have missed to pick up your vibes :[

they are about yeast genetics and genomes and stuff

this is what we work on - we use yeast as a model system to study the workings of life

one of the papers is on the genome of a newly discovered yeast species that we sequenced
