Best 80's 90's RB, Hip Hop, Reggae

Hello to all...My name is Ria and I am part of an amazing online radio show called Da' Crossover. We play the best of 80's 90's Hip Hop, RB, and Reggae. We decided to start this show over a year ago because we were tired of listening to the same songs in rotation every hour on the hour and we tired of hearing the same style. If you think about it the 80's and 90's that was a time when music was music, it had substance and artist were true artist. The lyrics were original, the beats were original and there was a relatable story behind every lyric. It seems like today's artist are prefabricated they have no artistic freedom, songs and beats are already made for them and they are just told this IS the song that is going to be the next hit....We decided to go back to the basics and man do i wish today's artist would set a foundation like they did back in the day. You would hear in Thank You speeches " I want to thank my influences... Aretha, Michael, Kurtis Blow, Guy " but now all you hear them thanking is the Label, their producers, songwriters....Would love to hear and get some feedback from others and your thoughts on today's music vs old school. Who were some of your favorite Artist of the Day? Songs that you just had to listen to? And when was the last time you were able to buy a CD and loved every song on it? Also if you would like to check out our show we air on www.dfwiradio.com every friday 12-2pm CST or you can check out our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/dacrossover2011...
