Had to google Bob Ley, had no idea who he was, unsurprising, considering I'm English.

Robben is so frustrating.

Also is this the new Sputnik community thread then?

Ah yeah, not sure why I thought you would, but he's just the dude who leads the discussion during pre-game, halftime, post-game during ESPN's coverage.

I intend for it to be the new community thread, although they haven't really been sticking for the past year or so but feel free to discuss community shit.

Yeah, only time I see the ESPN coverage is occasionally when I stream a match online, normally mute for the chat at half time haha

Mmmm, it amuses me how half the review site don't even about the forums, or if they do, they make a point to avoid them (except the meds thread)

Yeah I don't understand why. People use the list feature as they'd use the forums, as if the forums aren't already here for their use! Meh.

i've tried but there's already such a separation between forum loyalists and review site users

i almost teared up at the letters

what part of the rainstorm are you talking about? the entire sequence? i thought parts of it were a little over-the-top

vague spoilers

like the lightning, the scout leaders shack blowing up, the tower blowing up, etc.

/end spoilers

although I did think it was all filmed beautifully.

i thought the entire sequence flowed really wonderfully. felt like it built up to the point of that ridiculousness really well. but you're right the lightning & tower bit did get way more climax-y than neccessary. still it was just put together so exceptionally that i didn't find it jarring.

prob. my second favourite of his movies, really need to see it again

Yeah, I think I'm definitely going to see it again in theaters with a friend. I just went by myself cause I saw there was a showing and didn't feel like waiting. 1:10 on a Tuesday and I was the youngest person there by like 40 years, which I thought was cute and funny.

It's been a while since I've seen any of his other movies, so I couldn't rate them, but this is certainly as good as if not better than The Royal Tenanbaums. Still haven't seen Bottle Rocket or Fantastic Mr. Fox though.

bottle rocket is an odd little movie. very much unsure how i feel about it. tenenbaums is probably indisputable as my favourite though. this was the first of his i'd seen in cinema which made it feel somewhat epic to me. ((makes me wonder if i should stop watching endless tv dramas and actually see more movies))

Yeah I been hooked on tv series lately and have pretty much stopped watching movies, although back in my heyday I'd probably watch 1 or 2 a day, but I think this made me want to go back. This is the first time I've seen a movie in a cinema since Drive which was back in October, I think.

As corny as it is, I can't wait for The Dark Knight Rises.
