What do you abuse?

Musically speaking of course! What are some drum licks you just have to play, love the sound of or even wish you know what the heck your favorite drummers lick was... don't be shy, we all do it.

The ever popular trading 2's or 4's (hands/feet) is common.

A few I abuse shamelessly are the blushda, the variations of it. And the 6 stroke roll, variations of it as well.
Flams, just because flams rule. Particularly outlining phrases of 3,5 or 7 using flams on the accents.

I also have found myself recently putting the back beat on the +, either + of 2 or + of 4, though never both in the same bar. Weckl does that a LOT, probably where I picked it up from.

I tend to chick the hats on the up beat, or even sometimes the upbeat 16ths. No idea where I got it from, and rarely hear it, but it's a tasty addition to the right grooves.

Double strokes on the hats for sure, and triplets in every way they can be abused

I've been doing this a tonne as well.

Also lately I've noticed some disco has crept into my playing while I wasn't paying attention.. Absolutely no idea where that came from...

I abuse a lot of the same stuff you do, Josiah. Err..."Vinnie." My Chris Browniest licks are probably blushdas and paradiddle-diddles, especially the first (I think?) inversion RLLRRL. If diddling the notes between accents is a lick, then that's my Rihanna.

slurred 6 stroke roll or the first inversion of a paradiddlediddle

rolls are much easier to relate too. paradiddles are just a fancy name for reverse the sticking haha
