Always wanted a 1900s style mansion that had sliding book cases and trap doors with a French maid with fat titties.

It's obviously a bookcase, that is on the floor, and is therefore attracting attention, thus defeating the purpose of disguising it.

a bookcase on the floor is just as obviously a hidden door as a bookcase on the wall, maybe even less so

like there are so many better ways to hide a trap door on the floor, seeing a bookcase would just make any normal person say wow weird bookcase

Only works if it's hiding as something normal. Hiding as something abnormal is gambling on a double bluff to ensure it isn't found but even then any person with sense will still check the obvious places.

It's like trying to disguise a safe as a washing machine in the middle of your living room.
