Alternative and Indie recommendations??

Can someone give me some good modern alternative bands and indie bands to listen to? Throw in some grunge too if you can and list big names and obscure bands that are really good. Thanks!

I just discovered the New Jersey band Real Estate. They are pretty awesome. Kind of a Surfy, Psychadelic indie rock band. The sound is pretty lo-fi, but it is not absolutely annoying like Best Coast or Wavves. Also check out the new Battles LP, Gloss Drop. The drumming is phenomenal.

I know a band in my area that's really damn good, Sun Buffalo, http://sunbuffalo.bandcamp.com that's about as obscure as it can get.

You might like Cursive's Domestica album or Ugly Organ album.

Some other good bands that we really enjoy are nirvana, the pixies, modest mouse, jay reatard, the reatards, sonic youth, and kings of leons earliest albums! They all have the alternative / punk / grunge vibe
