thread reminds me of when the pit was closed, tnp got up and running, and the cast offs took refuge in the pop punk community thread which was very welcoming to some of us pit regulars

i recall elim, djducksauce, cobert, jessizzle, the moderator, and prob a bunch others from all over the board. but the pop punk "regs" seemed really friendly

chelsea / chillbee / chilly-bean-bop was cool and we kept touch with email until she pretty much graduated high school. one day just seems i never heard from her again and figured she moved on as kids do. looked her up on facebook a bit ago and seems she is pursuing everything she used to rant about on the board from her studies to her continuing involvement in music. looks happy in her profile photo. good for her

anyway hello pop punk people

it seemed big already. i guess this must have been '07 or '08? hard to recall, of course. yeah those users come to mind, you mention

i remember the mod was college age and he would come around and keep the users straight. really did seem a friendly place to post. i recall no trolling, flaming, none of it. and MUSIC was a main focus

yeah pop punk was my fave place to hang out too

had a bit of a pop punk revival the last couple of years actually, probably as much or more into it now than i ever was as a teenager. i think broadway calls and menzingers debut full lengths pretty much triggered that when i got sent them to review, then i went to see both of them at fest that year and i was sold. both have released yet more bangers in the last couple of years too

I've got an 8-bit version of All My Friends are Metal Heads as my ringtone. May have to change it to Lemmings.

It's not my favorite genre, but I do like the Descendents. I was singing in a band influenced by them not too long ago.

We should make a new top 100 pop punk bands. They did it before in 2005. It's in archives.

Gotta love this thread!

Some of my favorites:

-Blink-182
-Angels & Airwaves (kind of pop punk, a little more experimental)
-Good Charlotte
-Mayday Parade
-Bowling For Soup
-New Found Glory
-Simple Plan

Blessings!
-T

Chisel is THE best pop-punk band. Ted Leo is a genius and the group had put nothing to record but quality.

Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R63lYhp8GXI

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrAzixjBkcQ - this song always puts a smile on my face

It all just honestly sounds like it could be classified as Alternative Rock to me.
