Hey cool you're from Alberta too.
I'm not sure what exactly qualifies as "Pop Punk" these days but I'll take a shot.
Less Than Jake is cool.
I can tolerate Rufio mostly cause I like the guitar work...not too fond of the vocals.
Story of the Year is pretty good as well. Same with Dogwood and Unwritten Law.
Not insanely well versed in the genre, but I try.

Well if Hot Water Music and Gaslight Anthem are considered pop punk then I am a fan.
Blink 182's first few works are good, BoxCarRacer is not bad but not spectacular either

haha knew this would happen....
I like Ford Ranger/Mazda B serise trucks. As far as cars go I prefer imports, but I love the simplicity and practicality the Ranger. Perfect for my lifestyle.

oh and @ AllAgainstAuthority, is Less Than Jake really that mainstream now? I was thinking "Losing Streak" and "Hello Rockview" era. Or maybe they were mainstream then too.
Can't really say I'm a Green Day fan at all, but 1039 Slappy Hours (or whatever) is a fucking fun album to throw on.

maybe mainstream is too harsh. i've seen them a few times over the last few years and always felt that their later stuff is too record label aligned

and they play regular venues like the academy in every city which is like total syndication

and my love of this music stems back to operation ivy, link 80, le plebe, even bucket 'o fish and the like. not sure jake can fit in with it

Yeah not mainstream, but LTJ is pretty well known, and "easy listening" for most casual punk rock fans.
I don't think I could lump LTJ in with Op Ivy or Link80, both are too raw and unpolished.

Most pop-punk is nasaly whiny shit. The best bands are quirky, like Cage The Elephant and Dananananakroyd.

Choke is awesome, they come from my city. Didn't know they were considered pop punk.
I don't know of Unrest.
Anyone ever heard of a band called Cigar? I don't think they are around anymore, but they played some good skate/pop punk.
