Oh dear god I hope they don't put a VATS-like system in this. I don't really seeing it fit in. Perhaps a more precise aiming system...but not VATS plz.

but imagine like doing finisher moves on a vats like system with your sword/hammer w/e or a cool headshot with an arrow. you don't have to do it constantly but it beats the feeling you get from swinging in the same pattern over and over imo.

I think they are going to make the fighting feel more rewarding. Like I said before itt, if they could make it like the fighting in Dark Messiah the game would be awesome, and if they could make it better, then it will be GOTY hands down.

That just seems too "action movie" for a fantasy game. Plus the slow-mo stuff is just cheesy. Idk, to each their own.

Just reinstalled Oblivion. Going to try a melee nord.

Bethesda's Nick Breckon has confirmed that the next game in the fabled role-playing series won't, as originally suspected, be using id'sTech 5 engine. Nor will it be using Oblivion's outdated and broken engine (which so soiled my Fallout: New Vegas experience), Gamebryo.

Instead, it'll be using an "all-new" engine, one built internally at Bethesda. Not knowing what this engine is capable of, we're loathe to pass judgement on it, but working from the assumption that this new one improves on the old one, that's good news for Elder Scrolls fans.

they wouldn't do vats that would be horrible for tes combat is really never a selling point in the games.

Hopefully they look at what the most popular mods were and incorporate them. I really hope they make the menus more streamlined...they looked like dog shit in the last one.

I am just hoping they improve facial features so they don't all look fucking ugly this time around, Gambryo still looks pretty damn good enviroment wise tbh.

EDIT: no wait I was thinking of Oblivion with qorls texture pack 3 and natural enviroments the vanilla looks poopty. Speedtree is still awesome looking though.

was kinda hoping for ID tech 5 though...

bethesda =/= bioware
thank god

Winterhold (sometimes called Winter Hold) is the capital of the namesake county and a coastal fortress, located on the northeastern tip of Skyrim. Somewhat isolated from the rest of Nord culture, but still wealthy and influential, it is known as one of the Old Holds. Due to its proximity to Morrowind's border, Winterhold is heavily affected by Dunmer ways and ideas, fueling part of its economy.

yes more dunmer influence!

but srsly i'm looking forward to see what the new engine can do
they've gone through so many games, so many complaints, they should know what needs to be done to make the new engine a HUGE improvement

i was thinking from the trailer
the dragonborn thing has to be a reference to the throne of cyrodiil so the character you're playing as is obviously an heir to the throne so it can't all be in skyrim so, it's a ridiculously long shot, but i'm hoping the northeastern part of tamriel is open to run around in
just like skyrim, high rock, hammerfall, and cyrodiil
cuz skyrim isn't as big as cyrodiil anyways so they'd have to make it in at least two areas i'm hoping

That is actually plausible. I don't think they would intentionally limit you to a relatively small part of the world for the entire game.
