i need help with a headstock repair

so i was rearranging my room out of boredom. i accidentally tripped on the stand and this happened:






basically i need to know how to repair it properly. what should i use? i don't have any clamps. how strong is gorilla glue?

hopefully i can fix it.

You're already half way done with a headless conversion!

But yes it looks like a clean break and can be glued if done correctly and with the right kind of glue (and clamps). If you're not experienced with this kind of repair you should probably take it to a repair shop though.

since you build basses and guitars what kind of glue do you use? and what kind of clamps should i buy?

i've done a bit of wood working. i've made furniture, but i've always been scared of touching guitars.

Titebond original (not II or III) is THE glue to use. For clamps it's tough to say because you're probably not clamping a flat surface. I'd probably first use a cheap "quick clamp" kind of thing to get it in place then use regular metal C clamps (to get proper pressure) with cloth cushions on them so you don't dent the wood too much.

DO NOT USE GORILLA GLUE!!!

It expands, and the headstock will just end up falling off again. Son of Magni pretty much nailed the process, so just do that, or pay someone else to do it for you.
