DIY Refret resources?
Hey y'all,
Does anyone know any good resources on the internet for instruction on refretting guitars/basses? I haven't been able to find much good information, or any step by step instructions. I'd like to do this on a budget (i.e., I don't want to buy more specialized tools than I have to), but I am willing to take the time necessary to do it right. Also, I have a cheap guitar that I don't care about that I'm willing to experiment on. |

lmii and stewmac both have fretting supplies and books on fretting and repairs. They also might have a tutorial online.

stew-mac is a great place to get the essentials
Re-fretting is quite a difficult process though so expect to spend a great deal of time on it as well as trial and error. |

You will also spend as much on the tools to do the job (if not more) than if you just paid someone else to do it for you. If you're ultimately just refretting one guitar, you're better off paying someone else. |

Projectguitar.com is my go-to for DIY projects. Great tutorials there.
