No not everyone counts you have to have a Nielson box and only like 5,000 houses have one. If you do have one it will count dvr views though.

ok thanks

so like 5 million ppl could be watching a show but they only get like 1/5 of the credit so a good show gets canceled. maybe thats why the black shows are sticking around and smart intelligent shows like my name is earl is getting canceled. cuz the smart ppl don't have the rating system or just dvr it

wow this world is fucked. i need to be in charge of what goes and stays on tv i will make the best channel ever. man

You know those rating systems are flawed. They don't take into account houses that have more than two television sets and other things of that nature

I don't know about Super Bowl parties and thing like that.

But for actual members of the household, the box has like 5 or 6 numbers and each person is assigned a number when the box is set up. So that holds like demographic info and shi. When a person in the house watches a show they push their specific number on the box, or all the people watching do this. You have to do it every half hour just to make sure you are actually watching.

Honestly you would think there would be a better way

i'm fairly sure i got one of the tv diaries in the mail a few years back and was going to throw it away but decided to check it out, it had five dollars in it, awesome. i didn't bother doing the thing because i didn't watch any tv worth noting.
